Bobbed 5 tons look better, drive better, have more power & will sink in the mud twice as easy!
I think I totally and completely agree with that statement! lol
Its a damn shame I'm going for performance and not looks for this ride. Another thought for the future is a repower with a built 6bt...
This isn't so much a cost question as a cost observation...
It seems on paper that once you start adding bells and whistles to a project, the 5 ton would be the cheaper route...ie, stock power steering, no need to do suspension mods to fit the 16x20's, and readily available single wheels...
My...
Unsure if you're making a joke at my expense or just plain being a smart ass...but nowhere in my post did I say "plastic" They absolutely had these little contraptions called "wine barrels" made of a very old technology called "wood".
Get a 5 gallon bucket with a lid, insert chain and cover with sand...roll it around for a while.
This is the same way a person would have polished chain mail 500 years ago. Works like a charm.
In illinois, where I'm originally from, road debris isn't something that big trucks are liable for, only something that comes off of their truck from the load itself...
just giving you more info.
Can anyone confirm the tire size and potential lift on the original posters truck in question? My guess was 16's, but they dont look as big as War Pig's...14's maybe?
Chinook test pilot here....
83282 is the flame retardant oil...it is the recommended oil in our flight control hydraulic system...however...
5606 is what we use because the 83282 is HARD to come by for some reason...and the -10 makes for that allowance.
I have not seen it written anywhere...
Actually the old A through C models were notorious for leaks, and had literally miles of hydraulic lines running all through the aircraft. Then Boeing designed a central hub for all of the systems and it cut down on most of the leaks....
All that being said, and having over 1000 hours flying D...
Russ,
If you are interested in Turbo options like I saw you talking to guppy several posts ago, look into a twin turbo set up using your stock 35 with an HT3B on the bottom as a primary. No lag, and will support up to 700hp pretty easy on the air side...you'll just have to match the fuel. The...
That deuce is simply amazing. Are those the 16's everyone talks about on here? What kind of lift is required for that? I was hoping to get away with 14.5's, but man those 16's look NICE!
Not bent bud. The bulk of the post was how much I'd like to help out with the pick up and pre-inspection stuff....not one word on that stuff, just folks getting bent that I said anything about an auction. So be it.
But again, if no one needs my help down there, I'll just glean the information...
Ah, sorry about that. I thought I was trying to be helpful. guess I'll just keep my mouth shut.
And no, I wasn't planning on buying anything any time soon.
I've always thought a bobbed deuce with a utility bed would be really cool. But then again I have a ton of tools I like to drag around with me everywhere...lol
I"m not entirely sure on this, but since I want people to correct me, so that I too can know the build on this machine....I'll take a stab at it....
The wheels look like something from OD Iron, though the new wheels they came out with recently would look even better on there I think.
The...
225, but there was a 300hp version available for the 5 ton....which means this engine will still be bulletproof at 300hp. I think I've honestly made up my mind now. There is no way I was going to roll with 150hp and 330ft/lbs. This cat with the auto has me really really thinking hard about...
