The auto craft shop on Stewart is pretty nice. You can do everything you would need to do to a CUCV there. They have everything from engine lifts to impact tools to tire machines. These CUCV's are very similar to to their civilian counterparts and are VERY easy to work on. This...
Like warthog and doghead mentioned...make SURE your batteries are good. It wont hurt anything to go ahead and have them load tested. If they are weak or bad, combined with the cold weather...well you see what doghead said. That combination could have caused your starter relay to go tits up...
by the way you described it, SOUNDS like the relay cooked. Get out the test light and/or multimeter and trace it down. The DH relay is a lawn mower solenoid. I paid 8$ for it at Oreilly Auto parts and it works like a charm. Cheap insurance if you ask me. Also, if you did wind up frying the...
Nice truck! Congrats on the smooth recovery. My tranny pan gasket did the same thing at the front. When I replaced the gasket I put a TINY film of RTV on the gasket and haven't had any issues with it, and that was actually 1 year ago today that I did that.
Site bully...errrr I mean warthog
Thanks for the info. The parts guy here at the stealership was insistent that there is only one bracket style even after I showed him the two brackets. I got tired of his ignorance and went home. I want to make my own because I just picked up my first...
Well I know of over 70 of them at an undisclosed lot here on the back 9 of Fort Benning. Doesn't mean they are or will be for sale but they are out here. Im sure there a lot of these trucks at big posts and gaurd armories.
Mr. Timmarr
Would you be willing to share the detailed specs of your bracket? I just replaced the starter with a gear reduction and obviously the stock bracket on mine doesn't work. The stealership here doesnt carry it ( i think the guy didnt know what he was doing when he was looking it up)...
MAYBE try an electrical fuel pump? not too sure what else to check as it seems you have replaced 95% of the fuel system. I got a 6-8 psi pump at advanced auto for 45$ and it has lasted me over a year and still pumpin' just fine
:ditto: i used this one Buy Mr. Gasket Electric Fuel Pump Diesel 12D at Advance Auto Parts and it made my truck so much easier to deal with running WMO. The reviews on it are OK, some good, some bad. From my experience I couldn't be happier. It has been on my rig 11 months with ZERO issues...
The Army issues 24V impact wrenches that use the standard nato socket to all Tanks and Bradleys. They are definitely out there and some similar tools can be found Robotool Rescue Equipment, Robopaks®, Robotools® & Robolights® - Packexe SMASH, Ajax Rescue Tools, Turtle Plastics Blocking and...
For guys that do the spin on mod, you can get an electric fuel pump and mount it to the frame rail just in front of the firewall and you will never have to bleed the system again. I paid 45$ at Advance Auto for a 7 psi fuel pump and it has been a god send over the past 9 months. It also has...
So basically what you're saying is that if the charger has it's own dedicated ground, any 2 bank charger with its' own ground, per circuit will suffice?
I appreciate the respOnse Greg. I should have been more clear in my thread; I will be driving the truck 2-3 times a week so I'm looking for a permanent under hood mounted tender that can charge 24 volt systems so I won't have charge the batteries separately and then reconnect them in order to...
The Army has decided to move me to Fort Carson, Colorado early next year. With that being said, I think it would be a smart move to purchase a battery tender for M1009. I don't drive the truck often enough to keep the batteries sufficiently charged and with the extreme cold in Colorado, I...
