WOW.... I wouldn't have been too pleased if that top arrived. I believe the advertisement states they are for M35's???/
I will get pics of my top tomorrow for you folks.
thanks,
Ron
I picked up one of the SG tan tops for my tan truck and it fits perfectly. It doesn't fit loose or hang anywhere and it matched up to the snaps and buttons.
Maybe some are better than others??
thanks,
Ron
Fair enough. I thought only '86-'88 models were released in that sale.
As for the auction site, last time I made mention of an ongoing auction I was warned about "collusion".
thanks,
Ron
Hi Folks,
There is an auction site (don't know if I can post ongoing auctions) that has a 1993 military HMMWV listed. It states that they have 15 of them total and has a some unit markings on the door.
I was under the impression that no .mil vehicles other than ex-USMC were released for...
Hi Folks,
Just got this from Yermo/Barstow yesterday. It's a 1988 M35A2C and previous California Air Force National Guard vehicle. The only thing wrong with it is a pair of dead batteries (was able to roll start it). Everything on this truck is clean and straight with absolutely zero rust.
Here is another example of an Air Force M35A2C like the models you documented. I picked this one up at Yermo/Barstow and it's a California Air Force National Guard vehicle.
It has the following features that I am positive of:
- Serial #'s start with 10XX-XXXXX
- Bumper/Registraion # 88KXXXX
-...
The VIN plate on the dash states 88K353 1040-11307 and the vin on the frame rail on the driver side frame rail states 1040-11307.
Is there a way to decipher the year from these numbers other than being rebuilt in 03/88?
thanks,
Ron
Is there another place that I should be able to find the year of manufature on the vehicle? I am heading back down to the shop here in a few to inspect it for a number so I can submit the SF-97.
thanks,
Ron
Was that the M35A3 that closed on 17 SEP 09? If so, the batteries were dead (enough to hear a click when you flip the switch to RUN" though) and I believe the front driver's tire was flat. Tim over at GL will give it a push start with the forklift if you need.
thanks,
Ron
Hi Folks,
Picked up my second truck today and was surprised to see that this truck needed keys to start. Luckily the hauler new what a hyster key was and recognized this when he went to pick up the truck.
We thought the ignition lever was busted off when we went to preview the truck. The...
I think it may have been an issue with the electrical system. I started it up and drove the kids around yesterday and the vehicle remained at 178/180 degrees. I did the same thing with the thermostat in the resevoir and the truck running and still 178 degrees at idle.
I appreciate the help and...
Hi Folks,
My M998 has been running perfectly for the last couple of weeks now. Today I started the vehicle up and drove it to the shop and during a run to pick up some lunch, I noticed the temp was pegged at 205 degrees. This truck runs at a consistent 180 degrees.
When I got home I popped...
Hi Folks,
I need a M35 hauled from Yermo/Barstow to the Henderson area within the next 5-6 days. I would rather pay somebody from here at SS than going straight to a towing company.
thanks,
Ron
Hi Folks,
I want to install a .mil radio in my M998 but have NO clue as to which model. I am not trying to make it period correct because I am not restoring the vehicle to 1986 specfications. We are using the vehicle as an advertising tool and the radio being functional is NOT an issue. If it...
