Welcome from Orlando. You SHOULD come to the Ocala National Forest Trail Ride that's coming up. We have a good bunch here in Central Florida and should have a good turnout. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?111562-Ocala-National-forest-Trail-ride
Ditto. Shallow surface cracks are common in flywheels. If you're not turning high RPM they shouldn't hurt it. However deep cracks are another matter. You can also take it out and tap it with a hammer. it should ring like bell. If you get thud sound then it has a serious crack. Take it and...
4200 pounds for a CJ-2A? The curb weight is 2137 pounds and the max loaded weight is 2937. If it really does anywhere close to 4200 pound then it's grossly over loaded!

I used to go to government equipment sales at a nearby AFB and the local SD/ PDs would come pouring in just before the sale opened and take EVERYTHING in sight that was worth anything! They "hold" it a year or two and are then free to sell it or just give to city/county officials and some of...
Welcome! Used to live in FLP and Leesburg. Still have friends in both places and I get up every couple of weeks. PM me your phone number and I'll give you a call and stop by when I'm up there again. Now in Orlando area and have '51 M37 and '53 M38A1.

Thanks for the information and looking forward to hearing more.
I just got an update from WS. He's staying at the Holiday Inn at 5750 TG Lee Blvd. So if anyone wants to join us for dinner tonight, meet there at between 7 and 7:30. I'll be wearing a bright red Hawaiian shift.
I've been talking to WheelSpinner and he's coming to Orlando from upstate NY for a couple of days. He's arriving late today and staying out t OIA. Today we're going to meet at around 7 - 7:30 and go to a nearby restaurant and get a quick bite to eat and just shoot the breeze. Tomorrow he's...
Yes, but you'd loose. My bottle rockets are rated to exceed 640m altitude and come complete with red flares with parachutes but I have been known to pull that stuff and fill them with 4 oz of flash powder. :grd:
BTW BBQ site is directly in the takeoff pattern of the local airport and it's...
Frozen was specifically asking about a closed auction. Closed auctions are discussed in this forum regularly. But I didn't realize that the auction was five years ago. Good luck finding out anything on one that old.
