From what you are saying I think going back stock would be the best option for you. Personally I plan on only doing maintenance and bolt on mods to my truck as I would like to keep it as stock as possible.

If I remember correctly I just rolled it off using a pry bar after loosening the power steering bracket.

refer to my previous post as to how I did it. There is a GM tensioner you can buy for the PS belt; but I just used a pry bar on the bracket.

Finally replaced my driver side headlight. The screws were rusted up so bad I had been looking for a new bucket assembly; then I heard about PB Blaster and decided to use it. That stuff is AMAZING! I got the screws out with minimal effort after having used nearly every penetrating fluid I had...
