I have a CJ-2A with the waterproof distributor and spark plug wires.
I have a M38A1 w/o the above modification.
How difficult would it be to take the CJ-2A set up and put it on the M38A1?

The fairlead and winch was offset to pass. side and directly in front of the crankshaft on the jeep I took it off of. The 101 Ramsey 4000 was made in '44' to '46' and I have seen photos of the set up. There is a clutch near the crankshaft and it must have something to do with reverse action.

Could someone tell me if a crankshaft PTO winch can also be driven by the Transfer case (Dana 18) if you wanted without a major ordeal. The connect point on the winch looks as if a yoke/knuckle
could connect to it.

gimpyrobb, thanks for the reply....no I have the fairlead but not the parts to connect winch to crankshaft.
I had never heard of one before and wasn't sure how it would engage and disengage from crankshaft.
I have a 4K Crankshaft Ramsey PTO winch and was wondering how dependable and sturdy are those type PTO's?
