    AB-15 /MS 116-117-118 antenna fail

Antennas can be tricky. Part of the problem is how the antenna reacts to the metal of the truck body. As you bend the antenna over, you may be changing the operating frequency of the antenna. If you can get your hands on the MFJ analyzer, you could see just what is actually happening. Good luck...

    New girl from wv

Welcome from Ohio... Doesn't matter what color your rig is, OD comes in all colors... ( Did I really just say that? )

    attention all UK members.

Hey! Might be an idea to list make a list of every club member in the UK and what they have. After all, you don't need to have a CUCV to lend a hand with a problem... Or get together for a party.

Of course if you can't make Haspin, the Findlay Armed Forces Event might be to your liking: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?102735-Findlay-2013-Armed-Forces-Day-Event

Santa Brought a Convoy Warning Light Kit

I cheated with my convoy lights. I took a couple of angle irons mounted them across the convoy lights and made a light bar. Might be useful on a wrecker.

Findlay 2013 Armed Forces Day Event

Seriously... I'd like to see Steel Soldiers cloth patches for hat or jacket. Then again a boarding ladder for my deuce wouldn't be bad. Or a window frame...

If Kip is banned... Will we have to issue him a black arm band?

More engine problems (Documentation of testing fuel system, failure of Hyd Head)

Then again component age or previous abuse may have been a factor... We really don't know how badly our rides were treated before we got them.

    Dan's Deuce.

Maybe we should change Clinto's name to "The Deuce Master". His work certainly looks good enough in the photos...

    Deuce resto

If you can get the vin number, pass it to CARNAC in the VIN info 2013 thread. He may be able to help.

Findlay 2013 Armed Forces Day Event

Hope to make it too... The last two years I got there were fun.

    Aux battery question

It's all good until something shorts out... All kidding aside, I like the seperate 12V system. Either some form of alternator with 12V and 24V taps, a battery equalizer or the device they call a DC autotransformer. The main advantage to the last gives you the ability to charge the 24V batteries...

    Coldest starting temp.

Wind chill is the effect that moving air has on objects warmer than the temperature of the air. That means a warm object will cool down to the real air temperature much faster. It feels that much cooler. Actually humidity affects the chill factor too... Just remember, if air movement didn't...

    3 way B/O switches.

Same... Even the pushy button switches can be swapped in.

    mystery switches

If the truck has or had a heater I'd agree with Stretch. Look for a big honking resister ( 2 1/2 or 3 inches long, wire wound.) wired across the two outer switch terminals that is or was definitely a heater switch. If there still is a heater on the truck, listen for the fan on the heater box.

pulling 12v without a batt imbalance

I hate to say it... But there is such a thing as a DC autotransformer. ( I can only guess what sort of electronic magic they use to make them work. ) They are not very well known but they are popular in the solar industry. The DC autotransformer is a bidirectional device solid state device that...

How much Amperage/voltage goes through the master switch?

If you are worried about water and electrical... Check the marine alternative. Most power boats use a keyed ignition switch similar to an automobile.

Just remember that stuff appears to be 12v...
