they have a chain as stated before but they are known for being weak, thou 56k miles is low. the chain has a tendandcy to stretch affecting the timing of the motor and injection pump. I personally would not worry about the chain, but when you do replace I would go with DSG gear replacement...
thats a very nice truck, this is one of my service trucks. a 08 F550 4wd. I love the M1031 but cant find them, I would love to have one for my back woods farm accounts, my 550 weighing just a hair over 18k likes to sink. Great pics, and best of luck to you
You need to clean the tank, the hardest part is just removing the straps soak them a few days with Pb blaster or something similar. TRy to make sure you tank is as clase to empty as possible. Also I know everyone has a opinion but that inline filter is not recomended for a diesel aplication...
np205 to 700r4 is a very simple swap. Theres both a spacer or some choose to cut the tailshaft the required amount, or install a new tailshaft. But the spacer (I am having trouble finding in on my pc right this moment) is cheap and works very well. its a 2 inch spacer used to replace a 700r4...
Block heaters are too often ignored, and just looked at to be plugged in in the winter time. I plug my trucks in more often than I dont in mild but still cool climates because I have fleet records to prove by oil samples taken that it does help with wear. This is based off a fleet of 67...
thou your running a low mixture of bio is a extremly great cleaner. Dont be surprised if you have to change a few filters during the first few months. Cause the bio will clean your fuel system very well.
I might be residing in kentucky but i spent 15 years of my life living in alaska. but you can base your opinions on my cold weather knowledge simply off a location on a forum. And a oil pan heater is great and does wonderful job heating the oil, but is not recomended without a coolant heater...
A block heater thats quality is all you really need. No nothing about a dipstick heater, guess thats to keep your fingers warm when checking the oil. But the freeze plug heaters work very well, are cheap and imo heat the coolant alot better than a typical hose heater. They are easy to...
I service a few fleets of class 8 trucks and use delo 400 in lots of them per thier requests. its a great oil, but they also stretch thier service intervals well over 25k miles. I have just had great luck with rotella, and I purchase in bulk 55 gal drums. In my opinon any quality oil changed...
-Rebuild Injector Pump (I have a functioning non-leaking one 16 y/o I just installed, and the original '86 as a core, considering possible rebuild), You injection pump might have 150k miles of trouble free service in it, or it might have 5k, hard tellign unless you take it to have it inspected...
Hopefully its just a fuel supply issue with that line, and fixing it will restore your power and drivability. A kinked line would cause all the problems you are having, and putting a manual temp gauge is a great addition. good luck
Engine Oil: Rotella 15w40, 5k miles on my cummins 3k miles on my 6.2, 4k miles on my powerstroke, and 5k on the old 6.9 and 7.3 idi's that we use around here

Fuel System: Before My bio diesel setup I just used power service...
As far as timing I would suggest getting it timed by a good shop, timing affects fuel mpg and power lvls and the combustion of your fuel. it would be peace of mind atleast but I have taken trucks that many were happy with and timed them and they couldnt belive it was the same truck. Not that...
