Ok first and foremost, 5 inches of lift raises the truck above the axle 5 inches, to go from a 32 inch tire to a 42 inch tire you must divide the total difference by two netting a 5inch increase in size above the hub. Secondly, the lifts me and spink are using are for flex and low center of...

cucvdonk, I have pic's of alot of swaps in straight axle chevys, but my 1028 I dont have pics of, it was wrecked and I never took any pics of it. The swap for me was very straight forward and simple, but I also had done 5 6bt swaps before this truck. If your fab skills are good, and you have a...

    Part number needed

I dont have the part number but till you can find a replacement, a gallon jug just like the antifreeze comes in will work for a temp fix, and a few well placed zip ties or bungee's.

Before suggesting lifts, a few questions need to be asked. What do you plan on using the truck for? Do you plan on towing anything? What type of loads do you plan on the truck carrying? There are more but lets just start with that. If the truck is going to be driven on road mainly, with...

Transmission fluid spurting out the vent tube

1st check fluid level, also even thou the vent has fluid coming from it make sure its not partially clogged, this can cause pressures to build up and fluid to come out. your high shift can be adjusted with the vacum mod valve. Search the fourm for more info on that. Bad TQ convertors also can...

    Grinding Transfer Case

ok here are some pics of inside the 208, I tried to take pics of areas that would cause the issues you are describing. I have only seen 1 bent mode fork in a np208, and I think it was simply because the 208 shift linkage (outside) just really isn't strong enough to gain the leverage to bend the...

    Grinding Transfer Case

There is a detent spring and ball inside the case. These have also been known to cause issues. I have taken some pics as soon as they upload I will post. I personally have rebuilt more np-208's than I ever cared to mess with. But I can say that they are a very simple case to rebuild. I...

    Timing Chain or Gears?

lol thats canadian and for a 91-93 truck. only 689.19 for a DB2 for our trucks, which is still high but not far off base

    Grinding Transfer Case

Most common problems in a np208 case are avoidable. First the shift is body mounted, this can cause alot of engage ment poping out of gear problems, as the busings to the body, motor, trans and transfer case wear. You can usually adjust for some of it, but only so much. If your having shifter...

    Timing Chain or Gears?

Yes a injection pump requires more load to drive than a distributor. And for the DSG kit its a option. I personally know many motors running them without any problems. I dont know what the gassers are doing but to get those gears floating in thier design, you would have to have alot of flex...

    mpg thread

I got 19mpg hand calculated out of my 1028 all the time when I had the 6.2 and the 37 inch boggers, but I also was cruising around 56mph max. And I drove the truck like it was gonna break at any moment (very easy on the throttle) and belive it or not the turbo helped my economy. And I could...
