Liner failure in truck #2. We think it will be faster to swap in a motor from truck #3 than it will be to switch all the tour stuff over from one to the other. Right now I have two people searching TMs on how to separate the transmission from the motor in the truck rather than pulling them as...
Bad liner for sure. Got the dreaded grey milkshake. Getting ready to pull the motor right now and swap in another just trying to find the TM location on how to seperate the motor from transmission. Anyone have any hard learned lessons they would like to share right about now?

I have got the 855 in my 83 M925 puffing white out of the breather like a steam train after a momentary loss of power. Did I lose a liner o ring do you think? Power came back and I drove back 40 miles just fine.

I think the issues stem from experience with three different bars, the light duty one with the failures, the light duty replacement and the medium duty bar that looks like both if them. Ibis made it clear that their medium duty, 44,000 bar is still safe and in use in off road military...
I figure off road use for the military could include overloaded and stuck trucks, massive loads. But then all the cornering is on dirt and that makes a huge difference on side loading. Sounds like that is when theses let go, cornering on pavement. IDK, sure is a lot of doubt out there about...
I contacted Ibis and got a response. I was asking specifically about part # is 2512-100-001. This is what I got:
Hi Ken,
The Ibis tek tow bar you are asking about was designed and tested for Military Off Road Use Only and is NOT intended for on road highway use.
Thanks...
Well that is a rough noise. Other than a flex plate coming loose from the converter on a SB350 I had in high school it is sort of new that you can have that sound and haven't let all the glitter out. Say come to think of it that might be something to check. It only made the noise under...
I put mine in upside down/backwards so it was probably my post/video you were looking at. Have since learned that old diaphragms take a set and it wasn't so much in backwards as it wasn't 'shaped' yet. Another old mechanic told me it doesn't matter much as long as they go together its fine. I...
I think a u-joint bad enough to make that noise would be clearly obvious with a shake of the joint by hand. Get in there and pry on them with a bar just a little bit. I think I would drain the t case and look for glitter. You haven't got something that rubs on the motor/tranny/t case when the...
I have not noticed the direction of the Michelin X and XL to matter all that much in the rear but I found increased tire wear and steering input when running the front right in a reverse rotation. I flipped it after a few thousand miles and the improvement in both was quite noticeable. Still...
Just now realized with that description that the cable on my 925 is would backwards. I also found that the pump was held to the frame with one bolt rather than 4 and that the one was loose. Glad I checked before trying.

I got 14:00x20 in by loosening the boots on the intake stack, sliding the 90 in deeper in the boot and bending the brackets to move the stack forward. I did not have to move my grab handle. I would mount a little 3/4 wood to the back of the cab for a rub point as I damaged a sidewall rubbing...
My first thought was if you plugged the crank vent and pulled vac on the oil fill with a shop vac if you could stop the engine oil draining long enough to switch 5 gallon buckets w/o making a mess?

I am impressed so many of you can hear your radios to begin with. As for the headphones, I know that the Montana drivers manual has a line about how you shouldn't use them but it isn't in the laws as an iron clad rule. That said who are you talking to and what set of rules are they going by...
