A few details.
The block has a 5 degree taper to make the driveshaft be within a degree of parallel to the TC output. I made a drain hole to keep the pocket that the bolt through the spring would collect if not drained.
I live in view of a major north south highway, Us 31, not far from South bend, which has became more limited access on major parts with doubling or tripling the volume. I see convoys of those vehicles and to say they were not designed for the road is patently false. They cruise at safe speeds...
Replying to our old thread. I see fuzzytoaster has two M35A3 listed for sale in Texas and just want to confirm that I think these are great 4x4 candidates. He says they run and drive. They look a bit rough with bad tops.
That wouldnt matter to a builder that starts with the frame .....and...
Would help if he has a title in addition to bill of sale.
My m1101 has surge and I drilled/put in a pin for a lockout and backup safety. IF it has surge brakes, you may want to consider the mod.
Don't forget about backing up in low TC on a 939 series. Most of the site work can be in low and not worry with the 809s TC. That's one reason to stay with the 809 series.
Have you looked into locking differentials?
I was always impressed with the pulling power of my 817.
Have you looked into air locking differentials, maybe build a truck. Is deuce out of consideration?
They got back but gave no answer.....just a government circular answer .....which was based upon their interpretation of the question as me wanting to sell one to someone in NY, not the same as from the exclusive contractor GovPlanet.
Sorry, I didn't go to step 2 as it appeared the person...
Hauling twelve loads of the road milling for top of the driveway. They let me chose the pile I'm being loaded from so I chose the clean, no dirt, few chunks and heavy on the tar, pile. Cost $30 a load....can't beat that.
The drive is 1/4 mile. It has 60 tri-axles of ones and twos but not...
Bolt pattern is 8 x 6.5"bc, same as most trailers and old trucks. You can go lower with an axle mod. Myself, I also change to a 2 5/16" ball. Caution....the newer 180mm bc will not fit without an adaptor.
If your plan is to keep the surge brake, take the actuator apart and check for bent...
With your hinge so far forward the gate may drag the ground if in the straight position. Of course you can shorten the chains for making an angle, but stuff can get caught.
It's not the gate, it's the part that folds around and holds the gate , providing a steel surface to keep limbs, or anything from catching the chain. Google m929 and look at the fold around piece.
You obviously don't mind putting some steel in it.....looks heavy duty.
I don't like my dump trailer because it only goes to about 45* and it puts the back too close to the ground. Looks like height may not be an issue for you.
You may want to make a box that keeps the materials from being...
I wrote a question to DMV in New York. It said, " can a military vehicle bought from the exclusive contractor "GovPlanet" be titled from the bill of sale?"
The A3 makes a good 4x4 and if you have the money, gears (I think 4.90) can change everything on that 1-1 final drive Alison. Add in air lock differentials and front hub locks.
From what I read, they can back up in low range any not explode the TC like my 5 ton will.
Brakes are a 50/50...
Yes. When I got the number above my memory was that it was (obviously incorrectly) that it was 17.
Your post made me go look and it was 13 not 17.
I don't know if any state searching titles for HMMWVs will look at 13 or not.
Question.....how many digits does the HMMWV normally have?
Yes, you are completely right, mine is only 13 with IND in it. Learned that new today, I always had 17 in m head.
I have the county Sheriff office do it.
Here is one of mine on a trailer. Still, are there 13 digits on a normal hummer nameplate?
I'm going to chime in on Indiana title.
Do you all remember (that read it) a states instruction to use the short vin number to locate hummer titles/owners for making them "off road only" ?
In Indiana we can apply for a 17 digit after a police vin check. They assign a new number, most...
