I have had mine about two months..taking it to Michigan's Silverlake Sand Dunes this weekend..Never been there..Curious what I should prep the truck for, if anything....I see avatars of a few here in the dunes... so was hoping to hear a little advice before taking off...
I did a search and couldnt find it..So I got stuck in a rainstorm the other day, noticed water pouring in from my tailgate window....I had assumed, because it's crusty and old, a new seal would be a start..Just went to order one from brothers...$59.95for the "rear glass to top seal"..NO problem...
So my M1009 passenger side front seatbelt seems dead...Wont retract at all...Is this something available in the aftermarket? Where should I look? Would consider used, but afraid it will be as bad as this one..if anyone has a pass side, let me know...

Ok, so I'm not totally crazy for considering one of these to just putz around town in...Occasional offroad trip, going hunting, dunes, etc...
So I am a newbie getting hooked on the MV scene...Now looking more and more seriously at a deuce...Then my wife asked a good question.."What will you do with it?" Good question..Id love to drive it around town..maybe help out with local parades....Is that about the extent you guys use them...
Islandguy. there was a somebody selling a M1009 with a bad engine on CL...maybe find it and contact him, see if he was willing to make a few extra bucks before somebody buys the whole truck..
Just added a drain plug when I put in my shift kit last week...Cost $11. Just make sure not to drill the hole where the filter is, because they will hit and youll have to reweld your pan :-? Otherwise, seems to work great. Always has a drip of fluid on it..Doesnt even make a spot on the...

BTW, if you need exhaust there is a hillbilly out here in Howell that just put duals with Xcelerator (flowmaster knockoff) mufflers for $200....Did a really good job.
I replaced mine a few weeks ago and was wondering wtf the big deal was..No problems, took 15 minutes.....
Guess I got lucky..Time for something big to go boom or some major electrical problem to surface :shock::neutral:
Good advice. I am doing it myself here shortly as well...Ordering Durabak online, resists UV fading..Doing the interior, wheel wells, and under body to the frame. Hope to cut down on some of the noise, prevent further rust, and have something easy to clean up
