Paul was seriously bummed. You can bet he wont miss it next year.
I'll have my truck in Grand Ledge at the air field on saturday if you want to take a look.
Short and sweet version:
Left on Veterans day on a frosty morning (ice fog) made it to the Mighty Mac and lost a trailer tire at the toll booth. Of course I didnt have a spare tire. ended up getting a new tube in Cheboygan cost of $18.00 and 4 hours. Shot west to Marquette to see daughter at...
What I thought was an idelershaft was for the rear drive and it was ingaged. Though disengauged it made no difference . The only good information is that the cover on the PTO drive is the same as the trans PTO cover plate. Will keep you posted.
The springs use thier original hangers from the doner truck. They are bolted to the frame. From what I have read, welding to the frame will cause cracks. Get yourself a good bit sharpener its cheaper that new bits every 2 holes.
It has ARB's front and rear controlled in the cab:roll: yea right...
The shaft that drives the winch isnt turning but there is an "idler" shaft that is, and the clunking is intime with that. I might just remove the PTO drive and run an inoperable winch for the trip.
On my 818 when running there is a clunk, clunk, clunk coming from the PTO drive that corasponds with the engine speed. It goes away when the clutch is depressed. Is this normal? The winch shifts in and out of gear fine just the clunking makes me nervous.
I'm going on a road trip next week and...
Aroung 6MPG depending on how fast you run it. I haven't had it on snow...yet. as far as compared to a regular pickup? Think of a mid '60s' one ton with big balloon tires.
The frame is stock.
When I did my valves I closely followed the steps laid out in TM 9-2320-260-34-1 Task 3-38 on page 3-244. E-Z, just take your time and don't put your toe through your radiator. When you get finished with the adjusting roll the crank around twice (with the fuel OFF) by hand making sure...
I just finished putting on all the stencils and markings with the kit I got from 67Beast (Top Quality and Great Price!). I will try and get some better pics up.:-D
The start derichment was set to high and it kept overtemping on the start attempts. I adjusted it down two notches on Monday. During MOC it didn't get above 800.:-D
Thanks for all the comments. The build was actually pretty easy just moving alot of BIG HEAVY stuff. The motor SGT said it needs stars and hood numbers. Looks like I'll be giving 67beast a call!:-D
