Denton, NC rally set for April 11-13, 2014

Ok, I wasn't sure if a Deuce would fit or not. I went out there YEARS ago with a few Jeeps and a Blazer, we only went on one trail and it definitely wasn't big enough for a Deuce. I thought I saw someone on a different thread a while back mention taking a Deuce on one of the trails, apparently I...

Are you definitely bringing the Jeep? I'd love to see it. I don't foresee taking the Deuce out on any trails this go around. I'd really prefer to get it painted before "showing" it (not a fan of the current paint job), but I highly doubt that's going to happen between now and then.

    Led tail light problem

Ah. Well that's less exciting than I was initially imagining . Still cool none the less.

Where is the best place to get a m35A2 front windshield and frame?

Makes sense, kind of like tire bead lube (the heavy grease type, not liquid). Which come to think of it, would probably work great for setting glass seals.

I don't have any experience with changing them on Deuce's, but we use aerosol silicone spray at work to put in new window run rubber. Works like a charm. Granted liquid soap is probably something you would have sitting around the house.

    Two Stuck Deuces

Good thing you had Ford handy, that could have been a disaster.

    metal in oil pan

Any time you get an abnormal noise out of an engine, I wouldn't view it as paranoia. One of the Deuce's we looked at before buying ours had a rather unsettling knock in the engine, which ultimately killed the deal (along with other factors). I will needlessly say that you should probably get...

It sure did... What's funny about that is I went under the truck to get a measurement for the spring and it was still hanging there, just not attached to the shoe. So I just reached up and hooked it back up, problem solved! Once again, thanks for catching that. One of those things where my mind...

Stock M35A2 being run on the chassis dyno at SECO

I agree Patracy, I would have preferred to see an actual dyno chart and not "90-100hp". And my Deuce also really seems to open up, for lack of better terms, after driving for a while and getting everything nice and warmed up.

Another Deuce that wont start...but does crank...

It really is funny/cool how much attention these trucks grab. I was driving ours helping my mom move last week and had people flashing their headlights at me, lots of staring, and there was a guy on a moped that gave me a rather extravagant salute. I took my father in law out for a ride in it...

Denton, NC rally set for April 11-13, 2014

I just went through and did the front brakes. I'm hopefully getting to the rears sometime soon if the weather permits. I have a couple other issues I want to get addressed before taking too far, namely a coolant leak/consumption, as well as 2 flat rear tires. It should be mostly good to go, I...

Quick question on transporting your deuce.

I don't know what the "legal height" is for semi trucks, but I do know that they get shipped on a somewhat regular basis. Worse case scenario you could remove the bows, top of the cab/windshields, exhaust stack, and air the tires down if it was absolutely necessary. EDIT: This might be helpful...

M35A2 Front axle and brake service.

I have a Snap-On drum brake tool: http://store.snapon.com/Brake-Spring-Tools-Tool-Brake-Spring-for-Bendix-P636110.aspx I'm pretty sure that's the one I have at least, its not directly in front of me. But I used that in conjunction with some pliers to get the springs off and on. Rusty nuts tool...

I'm honestly kind of surprised to see there is a number of people with MV's that aren't members on here. Either way, sounds like a good time! How many people/MV's typically show up?

If I can get everything done on our truck that needs to be done to make it road trip worthy, I'll be there! I still have quite a bit I want to get done on the truck before I take it on any trips. I think I'm supposed to work that Saturday so I'm either going to have to try and get it off or come...

Traction control for an M35 series.

I've actually seen just overall road debris and rust build up on an ABS rings cause a failure (I've seen this problem on several 04-08 Maxima's). On the ones I've dealt with the ABS ring was part of the hub/bearing assembly, if it goes long enough it actually damages the ABS ring and the wheel...

M35A2 Front axle and brake service.

Yeah, I think I'm going to wait until it warms up before I do much else to our truck. We had a fluke warm spell after Christmas and I was off that entire week. A lot of the stuff that I was unable to get pictures of will be pretty obvious once you start taking things apart. The next time I do...

M35A2 Front axle and brake service.

I was going to go that route, but I already had the slide hammer and the driveway we were working in was pretty narrow so I could only take one side apart at a time before having to move the truck.
