I have the equipment but have never done anything like this before. I don't know how to solder or anything. I just don't want to jack this card up. These are hard to come across. I would LOVE to learn how to do it though.
I hear you. I am just OCD about my trucks and I want them to work correctly as designed. I carry around a jumper wire to jump the glow plug relay under the hood. An old mechanic that used to fix them tought me that and that is how I was getting it started until Warthog and a couple of others...
I the the red wire on top pink/black wire below that, blue wire on the bottom small terminal, then the two orange wires on the bottom.
I pulled my card last night and noticed that it was fried. I called a buddy and got another one but the motor was too warm to cycle the plugs. I am going to...
Yes, that is my new concern. I was thinking about it last night and I still haven't put in the oxy tank that goes over the gen. I guess I am going to have to scrap the idea and save it for a pickup when I come across one (and a fist full of money). :-x
Ok, on the terminal I have the top and bottom post (big wires) are correct. On the two smaller middle posts, I have the black/red wire as the top and the blue(ish) wire the bottom wire. Is this the problem????
Yes, the system is 24v and stock. The relay is of the newer style (cylinder type). I will double check the wires, but I am pretty sure they are right. It's raining pretty hard outside right now, so I will check once it lets up.
I have read the manual and I get lost when it starts talking about...
Ok....
Few questions on here. I know until you learn the system the CUCV glow plug system is a nightmare. I am still learning and need to pick some brains.
I have the manual and without some pics (yes I am an Infantryman) I am having a hard time understanding what some of these things are...
I think I am going to find a good oil pressure gauge to throw next to the volt. I am just trying to find a good looking gauge that will fit in. I don't want to have something that looks like an "afterthought".
I was thinking about a 4" lift kit. New springs up front and blocks in the rear (so I can still use my overload springs). I figure that should give me enough clearance. I DO NOT want to trim anything. My only enemy right now is getting the "extra money" together. :???:
My M1031 CUCV wants to hop right in to 3rd when it goes into 2nd. It will only spend a second or two in 2nd and that's it. It has a FEW times stayed in 2nd until the proper amount of RPMs.
Yes I have cecked the fluid level and everything is good.
Suggestions???
