Heading back to pick it up on Mon morning. REALLY looking forward to that!
Not quite sure what your question is NDT. I will look at the CTIS component behind the pass kick plate to see if there is something mechanical wrong with it. Someone on the FB group suggested that, along with a servicing of the dryer.
Ronmar - I didn't note this when I was down there but it was in HWY mode and I think the indicator was flashing (just that one). Maybe the HWY and RUN FLAT. I am forgetting now. It was doing something though, not just all dark.
With the truck functional enough to get home, I called it a day...
Need some help from the forum's collective knowledge....
Took my truck ~100 miles yesterday to Eugene to have the habitat structure blasted and painted. Drive down was hot with a bit of traffic but went smoothly. The fan cycled a bit more than expected but ran everything ran fine despite my...
Going instead with epoxy instead of powder coat and I even have it scheduled with a vendor for blasting and painting- Sept 8 delivery and disassembly on site, pick up over the weekend.
It will be a lot of work between now and then but it's a huge milestone. When it comes back, the shelling...
Thanks Chris. It's been an incredibly fun and rewarding process so far. I have truly enjoyed it. That said, I can't wait to get it camp-able and go use it!

Great looking set up and glad to hear it's your ideal rig.
I also had a Bigfoot (10.5', similar vintage) and loved it, but... It didn't have the storage I wanted. Even with bags, it was pushing the capacity of my diesel F350 dually. Unfortunately, the camper didn't stand up to the roads I...
Generic units are available, search for 44mm x 22mm switches. I have a post in my build thread on what I found:

Doug,
I can't tell by looking at the picture, but if you look closely at the front lens, you should be able to see very fine wires (like a rear window defroster) applied to it. The heating is done by current flowed through the wire matrix just like the rear window version. The wires are...
Another thing I checked was wheel component run out. On the two worst wheel assemblies I had, they were up to 1/8" out of round. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but by swapping wheel "faces" and "bells" (not sure of the correct technical name), I was able to get them all fairly...
As long as it's not a metal-on-metal or violent sounding hammering noise, yes, it's normal. That's the pneumatic portion in operation and completely normal. If that doesn't give you the warm fuzzies, post a video of it- or just the sound track- and I bet someone here would be able to confirm...
Some good work was done this weekend, starting with another do-over. The cargo bay doors were aesthetically pleasing but the hinges flexed too much and I lost the floor space in the bay which the hinges occupy. Time to design something else to get that space back and reliably locate the doors...
