Yes, a "good time radio" is am/fm/cd as opposed to a means to communicate information or orders.
I always though ground was ground also, but keep have people mention that there is something different about 24v vehicles and they never fully explain what it is.
The Pinzes have a disconnect...
I want to instal a good time radio in one of my Pinzgauers. The Pinz's are 24 volt and the radio is 12 volts. Both of the Pinzes came with a 24v to 12v converter already installed.
My question is not so much where to tap into 12 volts, but I don't want the smoke genie to appear because I...
I can't afford another truck right now or I'd be super interested. But, for the conditions on the farm that you describe consider a Pinzgauer. The 710M (4X4) can carry a ton of weight and the 712M (6X6) can carry a ton and a half. Very versatile trucks, just more expensive than a deuce of...
Last year when it looked like I was going to have some extra funds I emailed him an inquiry on one of the dueces he was showing on his website. His reply was prompt and curterous. If I have the $$ and he has what I am looking for I would buy from him and that even was before I read all these...
Check out http://www.ozpinz.com/. That's Peter Farrar's 712. He lives in Austrailia, but is a world of knowledge on Pinzgauers. Click on the Steyr logo next to Pinzgauer information. He mounted his snorkel on the passenger side almost to the roof. There is another Pinzgauer/Volvo site that...
I hope Jim L. chimes in for you, but with that list of lights not functioning I would guess you do have something wrong with a breaker. If it was just brights and blinkers I'd say look at your blinker switch. There is very little space in there for the connections and if the wire is stressed...
RE: Catching air in the Mighty Mite!
Mike, really good pictures. The Mite is way cool.
The little Jap-minis are good up to a point. Out here in the sticks problem one is the lack of ground clearence. Problem two; Texas will not let you license it to run on the highway. Just puttering...
I've been blessed with the opportunity to get another Pinzgauer. Went up to Golden, Colorado, last week and picked it up. Had a chance to see the Red Bull Pinzgauer live and in person too.
My 712M in Colorado.
Back in Texas in the drive way. The 710 is in the carport.
I'm not real...
I hope you can get it fixed quickly. Can't imagine how sticky it would be in your part of the world in a Pinz with all your humidity. Pinz works good here though even when it gets hot. Just drink lots of water. Good luck with the repairs.
Dave, maybe I don't have any depth perception in two dimensions or maybe I need new glasses. I couldn't even guesstimate on how long the 712 would be sitting next to a 710 anymore, never mind something I haven't seen except on the screen. Maybe I need a bigger monitor. I will say your Vampire...
It got hot later in the afternoon when we got down to the lower elevations by the Rio Grande. The thing was it was hard to find time for people to go during the school year. It's not what you would call on the beaten path. The plus side of that is you aren't sitting in a traffic jam waiting...
Just some pics of a good time last weekend in Big Bend

I'm on my second set of Interco MT's on my Pinz and they are absolutely great tires. I normally get about 8 months on a set of tires, it's not the miles, it's the rocks, and the first set of Intercos lasted 17 months. No flats on them and no leaks. Worth every penny.
Hey all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but I'm going to ask here.
We have quite a few Pinzgauers spread out all over Texas and a handful of us are interested in putting a trip together to go to the Big Bend Area. The first problem we have is none of us have ever put...
RE: Re: RE: Fuel milage w 465-1d M35A2 W/W
I have an 02 F-250 with a 7.3 and a chip and can pull 20 on the hwy if I'm not pulling a trailer. I just got an '08 F 250, gasser that gets right at 15 on the hwy. My 4 banger '75 Pinz, gasser, with or without a load, on hwy or off, gets 14.
I...
