You're thinking of the Urban Gorilla kits.
Early on they looked like this:
Then, this happened.
Now they look like this:
I'm wondering when the lawsuit against China/Dongfeng is going to happen...
My opinion, you should at the least, run some PVC beadlocks otherwise you don't want to get below 20 PSI or you risk throwing the bead because of the design of the 16.5" wheel. This isn't strictly on the subject of the thread as it shows why you cannot use 16" tires on a 16.5" wheel but, it does...
From what I understand, it would be the diffs. Also as I understand, this is why the H1 Alphas had Dmax engines that were detuned compared to their Chevy/GMC truck counterparts. Would the latest version of the diffs for the uparmored trucks solve this? I don't know enough about the newest diffs...
Myself and another member have been helping mattsb2000 R&D his shift lockout plates to see what could need changed or improved in his design if he decides to do a run of them.
I received one of the plates and did the install on my truck last week. Mine was a version he designed for folks who...
Did you catch this? Apparently GP has clarified that the "contract"/Hold Harmless is what a lot of people, including myself, believed it to only actually be, a boilerplate CYA, and it's up to the state of registration to determine roadworthiness and the buyer to bring it into compliance.
The...
Did you ever check into registering it as a historic military vehicle as avlon01 mentioned on page 1?
Here is the section of the ORC dealing with residency and registration.
The way I read it is that on becoming an Ohio residence you have 30 days to register an owned vehicle with Ohio. If...
I'd love to see the drivetrain setup on that if that rear axle is actually driven!
The Aussies use something like that with their SAS's long range patrol Land Rover:
Take a look at TM 9-2320-280-24P-2, section 398-1 or page 254/1020.
It has a complete diagram and parts breakdown if you want the exact parts used with the kit, which is 1/4" hardware.
I installed a couple aluminum 5/16" rivnuts and some Grade 8 5/16" bolts and washers. Of course, I was also...
Make sure you inform them that the Hold Harmless, by GovPlanet's own admission, is only applicable as the equipment is delivered to the original buyer by them, as 1 Patriot-of-many pointed out is on GP's site.
Clearly the WI owner brought it into compliance with WI law to get a WI on road...
Since you've got dual offset antenna mounts, might I suggest getting a couple PLGR mounts? The newer LED cube lights that are pretty inexpensive mount nicely on them.
Then you don't have to worry about dragging your reverse lights over rocks.
They are:
That's with the crate though so I'd say the kit itself is probably in the neighborhood of 170 total.
The fuel tank and transfer case plates are fairly thin for what they're supposed to be. Personally I think they could have made them both more substantial but, it's better than nothing.
I'll do you one better!
Here in Ohio you can title and plate golf carts and operate them on public roads (pretty sure highways are excluded but I'm not up on the golf cart regs since I don't own one). And this is fairly recent legislation that was passed.
So...
Bad:
Good!
Spotted this at...
It's all good brother.

I try to proofread my posts a couple times before I hit the submit button to make sure my post comes across how I intend but every now and then one slips by me!
You misunderstand. I agree with you completely! I probably should have put the breach of contract part in quotes...
"Yer breakin' da contract!" is just one thing folks like to claim makes getting a street legal title "illegal".
Besides everyone always forgets contract law is civil...
As are trucks previously sold by GP under that contract, cleaned up, and now being resold by 3rd parties on GP with street legal titles.
GP sure doesn't seem to have a problem making money off of this apparent breach of contract...

Looks like it was an uparmored truck too. Quick shot of it in the video above.
