    Keyed Ignition Switch

Thank you all!!! I have a 1972 GMC 1 ton truck that only ha an ignition key and no keys for the doors. I recently ordered matching ignition switch and door locks so I will be using the old ignition switch when I have time to replace it. Too many projects and not enough days in the weekend.

    Keyed Ignition Switch

Awesome. I have keyed door knobs so I feel a little safe from people getting in the truck but I am more concerned in case I breakdown that the vehicle can be secured for a little bit till I can come and get it. Keyed ignition switch will give me that additional sense of security :-). I saw the...

    Keyed Ignition Switch

I did a search and there are limited info on what "keyed" ignition switch is being used. Are these 12v or 24v? Any recommendation on a good and heavy duty switch? I found one on ebay but it's more like a tractor switch, I want a more fancy looking key. :D

    Vin location on M931?

I am still trying to learn things about this truck so I can apply for a SF-97 through Gov. Planet even if I did not purchase the truck from them? In the form it asks for an "Item #", do I just leave this blank or put N/A? Sorry to ask that question on this site but you guys are very...

M817 dump body on M931A2 Chassis questions about pump and valve

I am looking into using a 24v hyd pump on my M931A1 too but with a non-military 12' dump bed. These pumps ("SPX Stone Fenner model 1793-AC 24v DC Motor/ Portable Hydraulic Pump") are available on ebay for $299. Will these work or do a need to get something different?

    Vin location on M931?

Thanks! I am Mr Bad Luck when it comes to the DMV. The BOS that I got from a local auction site has the 9 digit number with the leading C. When my wife added the vehicle to our insurance, she used the Army registration number as part of the VIN. The insurance company decided (for some reason) to...

    Semi gloss paint

Thank you all that posted. Earlier this week I order a set of locking door handles and I just got them today. I really love the green used on the handles and I am taking it to Homedepoty tomorrow and order 3 gallons but in Semi-Gloss.

    Semi gloss paint

Hello, I have found countless posts on flat paint in olive drab green, tan and camo but I had no luck on semi gloss. I think the semi gloss is a little easier to maintain so I am considering going that route. If you have it, regardless of the color, can you please post a few pics? Or maybe a...

    M923A2 motor dead

Once the air builds to an acceptable level (60 psi???) then the brakes will release so the truck can move but the low air pressure has nothing to do with killing the engine if it's put in gear.

Rear inner hub seal on M931A1

Added about 1 gallon of fluid (we used 90W) and took it for a spin. She did just fine although we had a lot of bouncing from 53-56 mph, above them seemed fine. Oops, should I've said that? Anyways, I took some low quality videos (sorry) driving back home. https://youtu.be/eZsK9uvymUI...

Rear inner hub seal on M931A1

Thank for posting the pics and the thread. I found the valve on the axles. Update: I finally had some time to remove the wheel/tire. I noticed the outer nut was a bit loose when I turned with the wrench but the inner (slightly larger nut) was very loose and I loosened it with my hand. I'll have...

Rear inner hub seal on M931A1

Can you please post a picture of your setup? I tried searching for Fording Kit and Axle Breathing but I still can't figure out where these illusive vents are located. Thanks in advance.

Rear inner hub seal on M931A1

Thanks for the advice on the axle vents and on the "Sticky: 5 ton parts quick reference spreadsheet". I don't know how I missed the parts link. I'll print it and put in the 5 ton.
