We have back-up cameras on our fleet ambulances and activity buses. They are much better quality and last many years in all kinds of weather. You can back up a bus within inches of a wall with ours. They are also very pricey. About 800.00 for the kit.
derby, If the lift pump is not supplying the fuel system, the booster pump does you no good. You are correct about the flame heater filter. I would also check that for free flow. I'll bet not too many guys change that because of the place it's in. If you have a new one on hand, change it. Mine...
I have a flame heater setup on my truck and it did not start well in the cold till I changed out my in-tank pump. You could hear the pump run but it was not pushing any fuel. You definately have to check for fuel pressure and as was mentioned check or change fuel filters. If the fuel pump is not...
With all of these add-ons , it should start up with no problems. You may have to look some where else for the problem. Make sure your batterys are up to par, that means both of them. If you have one weak battery or two, the engine will not spin fast enough to fire. It wont matter how well...
Here are a couple pictures of the air intake hose I got from NAPA that I'm using for defroster duct on the deuce. Correction on the description of the hose. I had said it was carb pre-heater hose but it is air filter intake hose.
I just got mine from NAPA. It's not listed as defroster hose. It's 3 inch carb pre-heater hose that goes between the air filter and exaust manifold shield on some auto application. The NAPA number is 825-6038. Looks just like defroster hose with a snap type clamp on both ends built into the hose.
Just a little tip when removing frozen exaust studs. When applying heat, keep constant pressure on the stud with the stud remover. When the temp is correct, the stud will free up and turn out. You can overheat the exaust manifold and expand the stud which is not what you want. You want to expand...
None of my manuals make referance of it. My M-211 has it also. A good guess would be an air intake for the heater box. I could be wrong but I seem to have seen it mentioned some where.
3M makes a product called Weatherstrip Adhesive. This works very well for rubber weatherstrip. It comes black or yellow in a tube. Follow instructions on the tube to get best results.
Very good advise Butch. If I were going to up the power a bit in the 302, I would ad a camshaft designed for more ft. lbs of torque, add a free fiow exaust, and meter the carb to flow more fuel. Headwork is a must to complete the package. I think you may be asking a little to much to get mileage...
I have said this before. The New Englanders should get together more often . Even if it is a Convoy to have lunch or supper and just shoot the bull. COMVEC has quite a few outings which are great to attend. I'm talking about the in between times people can get together just to talk shop or whatever.
Stan, The TM 9-8024 covers the charging system in detail. It has system tests and pictures showing where to connect test equipment. It also has wiring diagrams.
In a deuce, I have found you have to be patient with the power. It does not come on all a once but is steady if shifted correctly and RPM range kept a close eye on. You have to let the drive train do the work for you. I have turned up the fuel a bit in my deuce and am very satisfied with the...
