    Question about tailgate chain replacement...

The rubber chain covers on my tailgate are rotting off, and I want to replace them. I'm wondering what you all are using... I was thinking of cutting up a bicycle inner tube and using that... problem is, a mountain bike tube is to big around, and looks weird, and a road bike tube is to small...

    Needle gun/Scaling gun

Would you all recommend the scaler instead of sand blasting to prep a set of hmmwv wheels for a new coat of paint? Thank you, Paul D

A question about repairing cracks in HMMWV hood??

My hood has several cracks and/or holes in it, and I'm wondering what is the correct method to do a repair? I was planning on using a fiberglass repair kit, but I wanted to double check to see if this is the right way to do it? Thank you for your help! Paul D

    bulkhead divider brackets

I was the op in that thread... LoL, haven't been getting much done on the truck this winter... But I'm itching to get some progress done and get it driving again by spring. I was able to pick up a bulkhead, but no brackets, so I'm planning on making my own. Same concept though, the bulkhead...

    bulkhead divider brackets

I'm just making some brackets out of angle iron (actually using aluminum, but angle aluminum just didn't sound right) two pieces on each side, with the bulkhead sandwiched between them I'm planning on leaving enough space between them to install some weather stripping on the inside of the...

    PNW Info Thread!

I live less than 10 minutes from Indian Mary, and assuming the truck is running, we'll be stopping by... I'm hoping to have it parade ready by Memorial Day, but I'm sure you all know how these projects can drag on....

    Helmet top installation

Wow, another reason to be jealous... That looks great, and would be perfect for our rainy winters here in Oregon. The hmmwv has been parked in our shop since fall waiting for a little bodywork and a fresh coat of paint... I'll get around to it some time before spring!

Actually I screwed the original ones up so badly stripping off paint that I had to buy new gauges, so I guess my previous post is a little misleading.

question about a mid-gate or bulkhead for hmmwv..

Actually, yes I will, I'll probably have more of an issue with rain coming in - I live in southern oregon....when I've been driving it around this summer without a top everything in the bed winds up in the cab... This gets really old when you are hauling hay. On a positive note, I have the...

question about a mid-gate or bulkhead for hmmwv..

since deer season is in full swing a thought came to me... when completed, my hmmwv will among other things serve as a hunting vehicle... the thought of loading dead and bloody carcasses in the back isn't a problem, I just don't want blood etc going into the passenger compartment. I will be...

A hopefully not so dumb question about installing a hmmwv cargo cover...

I'm test fitting everything prior to paint, and I'm currently working on the 4 man soft top cargo cover frame... The question I have is about the brackets... does the higher side go towards the front or the rear of the vehicle? The picture in the instructions is small and blurry and I can't...

    stripping paint from gauges??

Thank you so much for this link! I was going to use masking tape, knowing that it wouldn't be ideal, but I didn't know of any better ideas... I'll be ordering a set of these soon.... Paul

    stripping paint from gauges??

Turns out this is what I SHOULD have done..... I used the brake fluid, and it took quite a while, but the paint came off... Unfortunately the lenses hazed over. I tried a polishing wheel and the compound used to fix headlights, with no luck. Anyone know where I can find replacement gauges at...
