I had relay chatter.So i changed the relay.Still chatters.I did read low voltage on the front batt was the cause of this.I've rebuilt the drivers side alt.Both batts are putting well over 14v.But still chatters.Anyone any ideas???

I had one of mine break off 2 years ago.Lucky for me it broke off flush.Was able to get it out with a centre punch and a hammer.

Yes,done all that.The next thing was a bit of logic.......it all worked before i took it all to bits.So,took it all to bits again and start putting back the old parts one at a time.The 1st thing to change back was the voltage regulator.Low and behold it all worked when i put it back together.Now...

Right,i've just rebuilt my drivers side alt.Put it back in the truck.Turned on ign.Gen 1 light dim.Start up and gen 2 goes out but gen 1 still stays dim.Idea's anyone?????

At most gas stations here we have 2 sorts of diesel..low sulpher crap and normal(but i think the normal is not so normal).Probably just old age killed the IP.
