    Best source for 700R4?

Understood. It seems like all the large online rebuilders have marginal reviews. Could rebuild your own, but it is a pain.

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

+1 on the spring perch rotation for the CV driveshaft. That would be the least expensive and most effective thing to do in your case. I was just a space case and didn't think of it. You can cut and grind the old ones off, and get a new set from ORD or someone else. Bolt it all back together...

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

Shackle flip. Every inch of lift with a shackle flip tilts the pinion up about 2 degrees. 52" springs (radius) X 2 = 104" (diameter) X 3.14 (PI) = 326" circumference. 8"(that is how far down the rear of the spring is moved for a 4" shackle flip lift) x 360degrees / 326" = about 8.8 degrees...

    Best source for 700R4?

What happened to having Mad Dog build up one for you? http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?147149-700R4-questions/page2 I don't know if there is a good general book on 700r4's. I built mine up about three years ago now and it is chugging along just fine. One book I wouldn't buy is the...

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

Sell a kidney and go with a CV. If you are feeling cheap you can get a slip yoke style CV, but they are not the best since it is more weight to support with the bushing. At least that would eliminate the cost of a slip yoke eliminator kit.

GEP 6.5 NA replacement for CUCV?

I think the 24V top is different. 99% sure that there is two holes in it for the timing advance solenoid where the 12V covers only have one hole. You should just be able to swap the tops with no issues, if you were to try to use the 24V top with the 12V solenoids you would need to figure out a...

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

The M1009 is so short that with that much lift I would bite the bullet and buy a cv rear driveshaft. Point the pinion at your transfer case and run a driveshaft with a CV at the transfer case end. Not saying you can't make the stock setup work, but it is an idea. Personally I run a stock rear...

death wobble.. Fixing it with the steering stabilizer?

it isn't that bad to drill and tap your box. I have done a few, if the box is fresh you can do it without a seal kit. The only advice I have is to not drill the blind hole with a drill bit. I have tried to go straight to 7/16 from a pilot bit and once the bit hit the cross drilled port for...

death wobble.. Fixing it with the steering stabilizer?

In your case it might because you have crossover steering. I have three friends running around in various full size GM rigs with crossover steering. They all have hydraulic assist to help out on the trail and stop death wobble on the road. Any OEM rig with crossover steering has a massive...

    M1008 Fuel Mileage

I get about 15-16mpg with a 700R4 OD and 37" tires. That is cruising about 60-65 on mountain highways. Also the truck has 4.88 gears.

Converting from SRW hubs to DRW - Question

Don't quote me on this, there is a good chance it is false. I think the answer is no. I think the SRW rotors are identical to the DRW ones except for stud size. I don't recall which one is larger than the other but I think the knurled section of the wheel studs are bigger on the SRW rotors.

6.2 humvee engine loss of power.

That is a good manual, but it is new enough that it does not show the old style urethane governor weight retainer. Here is a picture of the old style retainer with the urethane ring. The ring degrades after a few decades and comes apart.

6.2 humvee engine loss of power.

That could be it, also could be something evil like the governor weight retainer ring coming apart if it is still original (no metal "E" tag under one of the three lid screws).

    TH400 transmission problems

Doh! One time I tore the head off of a continental diesel that was in a skid steer loader I had, turned out it was knocking and smoking from a stuck injector. One full gasket set, about a day worth of labor and I was good to go again. The worst part was as soon as I tore the head off a buddy...

    Injection Pump Rebuild Help

Like everyone else said, it the pump isn't working right you are better off having an injection shop repair the pump. If the pump is just leaking from the advance plunger or the throttle shaft seal you might want to try replacing seals yourself. It is still a pain to do, and you need to make...

Driver side lean, need help leveling!!!

I'd look over the rear springs with a fine toothed comb. You might have a broken leaf in the rear drivers side pack
