:ditto: Its not an industrial engine built to run on redline all day. Hey you wanna run it like that be my guest, but I want to have mine for a while lol.

Right, 20+ lbs of boost on stock compression = boom. I also assume you were running the stock turbo? Therefore it was becoming highly inefficient at those boost levels. Back to the OP if you really wanted I believe you could run one of the db2 pumps for marine applications to get a pump that...
I've been thinking almost the same thing lately op. I want to do a resto on my m1008 so if its going to be all apart I'd like to spice up the engine. What I've found is no matter what a 6.2/6.5 is not gonna beat a tuned up cummins. From what I've seen the most our engines can make is around...
If your content with something that is an old truck from the military and not a fancy cushy Cadillac then go for it. i'm 17 and have had an m1008 for 2 years now. I love the truck and their great off road rigs. Working on them is easy and pretty straight forward. I can't help you with dealing...
hey guys, well I have an oil that is well frankly slowly driving me insane. When I first got my m1008 it did'nt have any leaks. after about a year I saw some slight dripping from the pan. So i pulled the pan and redid the rtv and put it all together and no more leak. A couple of months later I...
Look forward to heading up again last one was a blast. Hopefully this time I will have a lift and some new rubber. Any weekend in october works for me except for the first weekend
:ditto:
The lady who does my vehicle inspections is pretty lenient. I mean i can bring the most utterly rusted truck and she'll be like "oh just rivet some aluminum around it so if a kid touches it he won't need a tetanus shot"and then puts the sticker on
but when she saw my ziptied licence...
yes that is odd if the weather hasn't changed much. I know if my m1008 is out on a hot day even if its sat all day it will cycle the glow plugs only a second or two to start. However, if its cold that light will be on a mighty long time. I wonder what tells the glowplug system how hot the block...
Yea thats how my cucv is past half doesn't give a lot but it does give some. Also he has to push it to the floor if he wants a downshift. like everyone else said make sure your getting adequate fuel and air. hopefully its not the ip since as I recall their very expensive to rebuild. But if it...
If the 6.2 was good I'd say run it but since it needs work it's really up to you.IMHO the 6.2 is a decent engine I'd fix it and maybe add a turbo. But if ur craving power I can totally understand the 454 if you can swallow the extra $. I dd between a v10 ram and my m1008 so I know where your...
Well the stereo is DONE! Thanks to everyone who helped! I love it the 3.5 are surprisingly powerful for only 25w rms, and the woofers well............. there just **** loud haha. I love the bluetooth and usb in the head unit. So now i can play all my songs wirelessly right off my phone. I will...
Alright, ya thats what i was wondering if you just put the wires together at the amp lug. Thanks for the info. Tomorrow i hope to hook it all up. Hey how did you attach your amp. I dont wanna drill holes in the back of my m1008 behind the seats. Im thinking either velcro or just some straps.
how did you tie it into the the power wire?. Also I was testing the circuits in the fusebox and contrary to posts i found in the search: the plug in next to the 5 amp fuse seems to be the only always hot source and it is NOT 12v.
Alright guys well I have been making progress and now am so close that I am doing the final wiring. I'm going to use the extra connectors on the fuse box from the ignition circuit for my regular power wire( for head unit). however, can someone inform me of an always on circuit that i can wire...
I had the same question and decided to use the rtv on my 86. It had a completely flat lip as well. As long as you take extra care not to wipe rtv off anywhere during install rtv will work. I did mine a couple months ago and not a drip since.
I did not see any mention of it in the user manual so I got 2 bass blockers.
Well I'm getting there, I fixed my passenger inner fender so I won't loose my batteries lol, am almost done fixing the battery boxes, got a "new" window for the driverside from the junkyard, got the oem speaker...
