I see 2 different kinds of glowplugs on ebay. One is listed as: LOT OF 8 HMMWV Glow Plugs M998 Hummer 6A843G115 I do not see "IN" listed as part of the ad, which I presume means the state. Is this the type of glow plug set you have been using?

Careful, I may have to change your nickname to Mr. Sunshine. :) Thanks for all the quick responses. I plan to enjoy this one for a long time to come. Best Regards, -Economist.

Is swapping in the new box, plug and play? Given the age of my Presolite, I am inclined to swap it out. Any domino effects I need to be worried about? Batteries are brand new and fully charged. That was my first thought as well. I am cleaning up connections this weekend. Thanks.

    Oil Pressure M998

Dear Mr. Black Cloud, No blow by out of the oil filler. I am just getting my arms around this rig. I have had it about 6 weeks. Changing all the fluids and getting to know her. She idles a little rough, but it is my first 6.2L. Good acceleration (for what she has in her). Have had some...

    Swapping V-belts on a HMMWV

Thanks for the moral support. I will report back after completing the torture test. Maybe we should reevaluate alternatives to water-boarding? Just send the detainees down to the motor pool!

    putting a tach on a 6.2

Many thanks for the lead. I will see if they are willing to just sell the parts I am missing.

    putting a tach on a 6.2

I have seen lots of positive comments about the tiny tach. I just prefer to see the needle sweep around rather than the digital readout.

    Oil Pressure M998

I don't think I have ever seen PSI that low on my M998. Doesn't that concern you given the TM range of 40 to 60?

    Oil Pressure M998

It goes up when I drive. Usually in the 40 to 60 range.

    putting a tach on a 6.2

I picked up a HMMWV tach on ebay, but no wiring and no bracket. Other than Kascar, can you point me to sources for my missing pieces? Many thanks.

    Swapping V-belts on a HMMWV

I have tried a couple of different contortionist moves to get at this from the top of the shroud. Have any of you had better luck attacking from the bottom or do I just need to accept the fact that my forearms will take the brunt of the fan blades and forge ahead?

    Oil Pressure M998

The TM indicates that operating oil pressure should be in the 40 to 60 PSI range. My M998 is relatively new to me, but I noticed that it is consistently just above 30 at idle. I did an oil and filter change and triple check fluid level. Still runs at just above 30 at idle. Is this normal...

Excellent. I ordered the grounding strap. It is in route. I have lead on a new box. PN# 6110-01-542-7901. Supposed to be the latest and greatest. Do you know if that requires a separate glow plug harness? FYI, I saw rear bumper, D-Shackle brackets on clearance for $6.00 each at KASCAR...

Photo of PCB box attached. I am trying to find the grounding straps Ted posted about. Does the PCB box tell you anything?

    Poping sound when turning

On my A3, I had the same thing. I greased up the steering arm where the boot is located. It went away. I think the spring inside may have been dry and neglected while on the base. Just my 2 cents...

I looked at the truck and it does not appear to have the ground straps. I will try to track one down from a supplier and see if that helps.

    Rear bumper pictures

My brackets appear to be identical to the photos. I will try to loosen up the fittings first and then resort to a little tolerance milling to get it in. Thanks again.
