Those frag5 doors are HEAVY!!! 1 wooden shipping container with 4 doors weighs 300lbs shy of 3k!! That heavy armor is the framerails worst enemy. Hey, if you dont mind, on the full tan one, whats the build date? Just curious if any of the ones we have built have made it over there latley. Oh...

    cooling fan adjustment

thermostatic switch in the water crossover controls the fan. Find one that has a lower on and off temp and you are good to go. Unless its overheating as it is I wouldnt mess with it. Its at the perfect temp range for that motor. Kyle

    HMMWV TH400 tranny pan

Good luck as most of the replacement pans and new transmisions in the A1s are also lacking a drain plug.

    HMMWV TH400 tranny pan

Id think they are just factory 'deep' pans found in mostly trucks. Really no diffrence.

    M1031 - 4L80E conversion ??s

If you have a TH400 in it now, the splines are the same. Ill look at work tomorow at the diffrences in the adaptors. There are a few companies that make manual valvebodys for the 4L80s, you would just have to shift it on your own. They were around 300 bucks, much cheaper than a standalone...

    Flame throwing stack

I remember my instructor in school telling me that throwing some old D-cell batteries in the stacks would produce a flame. Never tried it.

    What happens at Rebuild?

There are 2 diffrent 'rebuild' programs that I know of. RESET and RECAP. Reset is pretty much just updates/MWO's, and repairing equipment. Depending on the model there are a few manditory replacement items, but not EVERYTHING is torn down and rebuild. RECAP is a complete dissasembly of the...

    Humvee project

Personally Id be very weary of the 6.2s pulled out in the NE Texas area. Not sure how any of the other RECAP facilities do it, but when they pull the packs here, they are banded up on a pallett and set outside in the weather for who knows how long. Granted the teardown workers are SUPPOSED to...

Saw this posted over at G503.com

Bringing another post up from the dead. I work there at RRAD, the base mentioned in the first post. I promise you we dont scrap ANY HMMWV. We have a heck of a assembly/rebuild line putting out up to 32 M998s a day. That is a ground up refurbishing with all rebuilt or new components. And where...

    MY M1114 PICS

Yea, bringing up an old post, just finally registered! George, the radiator and oil cooler on the 1113 and 1114 are much bigger, they are longer requiring a diffrent fan shroud, as well as front frame extensions and extended radiator mount. Engine oil, transmission oil, and power steering oil...
