Well I am really happy with my first M939 which happens to be the wrecker. But one of small annoying thing I noticed really quick was the lock on the rear PTO engagement lever. I assume mine is like the rest in which there is no easy way to release it, I used a pair of vise grips. I decided to...
I agree I really wanted the tow bar. I got the chain brackets for the axle tow but as of yet seen a tow bar included in a sale over here. I didnt want to admit it but after dragging one of those 2 pulley jobs out I gave up and got the forklift. Its got to be a lot of work setting up one for what...
It should be easy since the front and rear systems use different PTOs and pumps to accomplish their tasks. It depends how much you want to remove. The easiest of course would be to just remove the winch and its hydraulic motor and connect the two hydraulic lines going to the motor together. If...
I just drove my new to me 936a2 home which was 350 mile one way trip and it really needs some help getting up grades. Pulled the Tehachapi grade at about 12 miles per hour at the worst. Doesn't like grades at all! But on the flat I had her up to 60-62 most of the whole way without a problem and...
I just bought a m936a2 and drove it home 350 miles. And my throttle pedal kind of sticks down and doesn't instantly come back up. I looked at it quickly today and it seems to be the kick down cable for the trans that is binding slightly. Yours maybe having the same problem, and sticking down...
Now that I know there isn't a lock valve on the cylinder retract connection (like it should have) I will put one on mine once I get it here. But though a lock valve will save you from hoses breaking or someone moving the valve without the engine running other stuff can still go wrong so this is...
Sorry I didn't mean to start a take over the CDL topic. But due to safety I don't see why or how there should or would be a way around a CDL for over 26K 3 axle and air brakes!. The smog is another issue entirely though.
Thats a good idea, a lot like whats used on a typical front end loader or backhoe, Like when you want to stick your neck under the hood with the bucket up in the air you stick one of these on the cylinder. Though I don't know for sure but I would hope the wreckers main boom cylinder would have...
What about the other issue thats going to be coming up here in California at the start of next year. From what I can gather any Pre-1994 vehicle with a diesel engine over 26k GVWR will not be legal to drive or even run in California without being retrofitted with a 2010 or new heavy duty...
I see this posting is a little old, but I had a question, As far as a the SF 97 is concerned, according to the info on GL auctions, it seems to say they wont give you a SF97 if the lot number of the vehicle in question is greater then 600. Every vehicle I seem to run across is greater then 600...
I thought of that but I was worried because its only rated to tow 20K and these things weigh around 36k with the wrecker body. Be great if one of the two trucks was basically any other 939 but another 936 as the rest of the models are a lot lighter, except maybe the dump truck version not sure...
I just bought 2 936A2s out of Barstow and I am planning the 340 mile trip to retrieve them. One at a time. Anyways the questions I have are in regards to a some parts I want to bring. First one is batteries. I cant find any info on the type or group size or at least dimensions of the 4 12v...
