Dude, you're in Colorado and you have a 73-87(91) GM fullsize. Go get a screen name on www.ColoradoK5.com . You've probably got 30 guys on there within easy driving distance of you.
No because while you're regearing you take the Gov Lock out and put something better in.
Most of the ones I saw fail were under stock or stockish trucks. Seen them fail from offroading and big tires too but most of the folks I know with big tires and big trucks have already ditched them by...
6 lug 14FF's have been around forever but yeah, they've always been custom made either with special hubs or just milling down the hubs.
In the 88-98 body style trucks there was the 6 lug 14SF axle but it was only in that body style and it obviously wasn't a front axle or a full floater...
First one seems to be confused as to what he has as there was no 14 bolt front axle and at any rate they never came under the Blazers.
Second one seems like a decent price for a 14FF rear axle. Beef, beef, and more beef and should bolt into your M1009.

That picture is Fred Williams from 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine's "Project Army Truck".

Kennedy worked there while he was doing it and owns a K5 or two himself.
The CUCV's just have the heaviest springs GM offered for that chassis. So the M1009's have something like what you would get if you ordered a K5 with the snow plow and trailer towing packages.
I looked for a HMMWV TH400 pan for a good long time before giving up. If you find more than one let me know please. Couldn't find them anywhere.
www.summitracing.com has drain plug kits. It's been a few years but the last one I bought was under $10. I want to say $8 and with shipping it was...
Depends how they do it.
A reputable shop flushes everything AND changes the filter so the system is totally clean. A BS shop just flushes the trans on a machine which often knocks a lot of stuff out of the filter and back into the trans. Some don't even do complete flushes.
