If you will search a few of my other posts on this type of thing, it will clarify your issue very well. Basically, put the two lights that are the same in series with one another. The odd light will need to have the proper voltage dropping resistor installed in series with it as will the siren...
Oh, by the way. Always be 100% up front and straight with your insurance agent. If there is ANY deception on your part, when it comes time for them to pay up, they won't be legally obliged to do so and won't. You will be 100% liable for any and all damages to persons oan/or property.
I've...
I would wire up the trailer breaks so they could be switched to work in series for 24 volt and paralled for 12 volt. Use the newer LED brake/tail lights that will work on either voltage.
It would really be a bad thing to burn up the breaks with 24 VDC and then need them to work for a panic...
All states are different (I'm in NC), but I went with a State Farm Commercial insurance with the stipulation that it would NEVER be used commercially/for hire. $160 per 6 months if I remember correctly. Gico and Progressive refused to insure me in NC. Even though I have a smalll fleet of...
That is correct. It would be a belt driven hydraulic pump. Not PTO drivven. THere is not any PTO levers in the cab of an A3.
Personally, I do not like the look of the A3s that have the hydraulic wench because of the very large and unsightly hydraulic fluid tank mounted behind the bumper on...
That is why I went with an A3 over the A2. You save the expence of swapping to super singles, get a dual circuit brake system, Cat engine with Allison trans, and even air assist steering. In cab heater/defroster, add ot all up and it is cheaper than an A3 that needs those mods. Oh, you...
I used to do quite a bit of wielding many years ago. Even worked as a wielder inbetween electrical jobs. Fast forward to the last few years, and I finally got tired of paying the local wielding shop to do work that I was never happy with. So, bought a Hobart 140 off of Craigs list for a...
If you do the relay thing, make sure their contracts are rated for DC.
You may wish to consider using voltage dropping resistors instead. If you add a.resistor in series with each bulb's high and low filiment that has the same resistance, it.will drop the voltage down from 28 VDC to 14 VDC...
I have been considering the same thing to be able to load a couple of my scooters. About 860# for the Road King. Would need to be able to move it around to help change a tire.
I was in Gaffney, SC just before Christmas and a guy there was having a problem with the DMV registering his deuce. Don't know the specifics, but his solution was to put a Chevy truck cab and bed on top of the deuce. Looked pretty wild. I might be able to get a pic emailed to me.
I do more off road than on road (not counting parades), and I'd love for my system to work. However, since I'm very often deployed for extended periods, it just is not practical. I'd be coming home to flat tires with damaged sidewalls...
For the purpose of the vehicle that started this...
I have an A3 that came from GL with wooden troop seats. Have considered the composite decking material. Interested hearing if anyone has used it and how it turned out. Would consider ordering new fiberglass stuff from the OEM if it was reasonable, and I could reuse my metal hardware. Anyone...
They are really proud of it, but there is a 1952 Kaiser at:
1952 Kaiser 2.5Ton 6X6 (W0514)- Fenton Fire - Used Fire Trucks - We sell quality pre-owned fire engines, tankers, ladders, rescues, ambulances, quints in USA, Canada and beyond.
Going North on I-95, not long after getting into Georgia from Florida, there are a bunch of A2s, A3s, and Firetrucks on the East side of the highway. They are all for sale. See them every now and then driving by... Then again in South Carolina on the East side of I-95 there are some more...
Anyone have pictures of a winch on the BACK of a Deuce? To me, it looks like the best spot is between the frame rails above the pintail hitch. Need to keep the hitch as I pull stuff. Don't want to give up the approach angle by mounting it below the hitch. It sure does look like a tough...
Prices really that low? Yep. Checking out the local 4x4 web page, there is a guy in Savannah, GA that has a new 24 volt Warn 18K for $500. He also has a new 24 volt MM 10K Hydraulic winch... check out at:
