best & most economicable swap for a m715 engine is a "stock" small block chevy. mating a jeep 360 to a t98 is going to take alot of engineering and its has to be extreamly precise or it will kill clutches, and eventually your engine because of miss alignment. runout is .005 to .012 max.

most likely the oil line from pass. side of block to rear of head went bad as they all do. its gives the impression of rear main seal leaking. this line is hi pressure and feeds oil to top end of engine.
I,AM GOING TO install a 6bt in the truck I,am building now "if" I dont have to cut the m715 any. Its going to be 99% on road use tk. I,am going to do a spring over ft. and shackle flip rear ( d60 & 14 bolt) , this will give me plenty of oil pan clearence to ft. axle. when doing a 4bt and not...
I USE murphys ture grease when i mount tires but i have a comercial shop. dawn dish detergent mildly diluted with water will do same thing. it also aids in sealing the tire bead to the rim.
Well got all my ducks in a row. Heres the components in a m715 water pump all refurbished main components and new u.s. Seal and bearing. Sorry it took me so long guys.

GETTING THE IMPELLER OFF THE BEARING SHAFT WITHOUT DAMAGE IS THE HARDEST PART OF THE WHOLE JOB !! IT IS VERY FRAGILE...
do yourself a favor and leave the truck intact untill you get all the parts for your build. you wouldnt believe howmany m715's i,ve bought that was dissasembled to modify and never got done and because it was dissasembled they had to sell it for far less $. also the m35 stuff is way too heavy...
"finally" got the parts back from the stripper and now there being coated for protection. Got the new bearings and seals in also. Will have a full wrte up in a couple days. Sorry for the long wait it was out of my hands.

M715 ORIGINAL 230 TORNADO ENGINE !
Thought I had a stash of these parts but if I do I cant find them (figures) anyway I need a source for the coolant hose thats on the passenger side of the engine block that goes from engine block to rear of timming cover, it has about a 45 degree bend made in...
Warthog nailed it. The hose is on driver side of engine. Its rotten and time to replace it. While your at it replace the oil line from passenger side of engine block to rear of the head ! Its bad too i bet.....
Charles talbert there in n.c has everything to do this conversion. M-series rebuild-repower. In my personal m715 i put over 50k miles on it with only 1 ignition tune up and it didnt need it then !
yes there is. A special fixture to hold pulley and a 30 ton press to remove it then the press again and another special fixture to keep re-installed depth correct for the belts. I can do it for you if you need me to.
