Alky in the gas. Also check the sealing surface where the o-ring contacts the needle valve and inside the carb. One might have a burr and as a result getting the o-ring. I'll look thru my parts bin and see if i can measure a 0-ring for you.

Nay on the atlas imo go np203/np205 to get the gearing back closer to stock for wheelin. You,ll need it off road in demanding places with those "great big" tires.
i just bought some rubber run flat - bead locks off gov liq. and there seems to be 2 different types here. I,ve seen the completely 1 piece design in 12 bolts but this batch looks like theres 2 more types !
1. tall run flat (very skinny) seems like it takes 2 side rubber parts for the bead lock...
I have a repro tail gate ! Also the truck looks like it was moded for a snow plow use hence all the rust. Dont try to make it perfect just a good driver imo. Finding a cab worth having is going to be very tough and pricey......

PULL VALVE COVER AND CHECK CAM LOBES FOR WEAR & valve adjustment , IF alls good there then check shaft in distributor for it being loose in hsg. if good there then cam chain is stretched or tensioner is bad. you might also do a compression check on all 6 cyls. also lastly you might setup a new...
its very doubtful you,ll be able to rebuild your own water pump because i had to fabricate 4 special tools just to dissmantle the water pump not to mention re-asembling it.
