Looks good. How much closer to the steering wheel do they put you compared to the original seat? I really want to put some new seats in our Deuce but I'm 6'5 and am concerned with getting put too close to the steering wheel. I've sat in a truck with a springer seat and it was a little too tight...
Another trick you can try next time is to spray down the outside of the hose with carb cleaner. If I'm not mistaken it actually temporarily expands the hose and then returns to its normal size when the carb cleaner evaporates. I do it all the time at work. Works for getting stubborn hoses off as...
On my truck when its below roughly 40 degrees or so, the air buzzer doesn't work. The no pressure could be a frozen air system like gimpy said. The rest of your problems will require more specifics.
Ah, so it does have more air flow. Everything on my truck has been painted black, so its not really easy to see a lot of stuff. I never noticed the air line sizes.
Not to threadjack, but is there any less airflow from the in cab air outlet than the rear gladhand? I keep seeing people saying to use the rear gladhand, and nobody seems to mention the in cab air outlet.
I was in the same boat as you when getting into MV's, I'm a tech at a dealership and have little to no experience with diesel. If you are even remotely mechanically inclined and have any automotive experience, picking up on diesel is relatively easy. That being said, I wanted a M35A2 mostly for...
I replaced a burned out headlight, both front axle boots, wheel cylinders, axle seals, the drivers side shoes, packed wheel bearings, and overall made a gigantic mess :p.
I think he had a lot of parts stolen off the truck, either before he bought it or after? I'm assuming that's where the "scrappers" comes in on the thread title.
All in all I think we got a good truck. It definitely has its problems (which one of these trucks that hasn't been fully restored doesn't?). But that's one of the reasons I got into MV's was to have a fun project. It definitely gets overwhelming at times, but I just remind myself to take it one...
That same fuel line has a kink on my truck as well, its no where near as bad as yours though. I asked around and called various surplus parts dealers and came up with nothing on an OE replacement line. I'm still trying to figure out which direction I want to go as far as a replacement. Between...
Patracy said that most of the dead links have been dead for a while, nothing they can really do about it. Definitely makes searching for something a good bit more time consuming.
Once more details get hammered out, I'll try and put it on my calendar. If it does fall on the 11-13th weekend of April that's right before my birthday (April 16th), and that sounds like a good way to celebrate!
