Hrmm, so it might be worth the $100. What size air hose do you use yours on? I have a 3/8 that I was going to run off the truck, but I get the feeling from what I've read on here it won't be enough.
I went on the Snap-On truck today and he had a Blue Point 3/4" impact for like $650. I'm sure...
That's nuts... I see a decent amount of modern car tires starting to dry rot after 4-5 years. I've seen some tires that were in that age range that had dry rot go all the way to the steel belts. It's a ton of fun trying to tell a customer they need tires when their reply is "What? Those tires...
Does anybody have any experience with this particular impact: http://www.harborfreight.com/3-4-quarter-inch-heavy-duty-impact-wrench-66984.html ? I'm trying to figure out the best way to remove/reinstall the lug nuts without spending a ton of money. I also saw a 3/4 drive torque wrench at Harbor...
I tend to agree that IF it is in fact temperature related its more than likely water that got in the tire and froze. I would most definitely check ALL of your lugs and make sure they're tight, as well as wheel bearings. In my experience with cars and light duty trucks, bad vibrations are...
Wow, that looks really good... Starting to make me rethink doing 395's all the way around. I can't really tell from the picture, what kind of tires are you running on the rear?
Quick question for anybody who has dealt with NOS brake shoes... Mine just came in and the friction material on some of them is gray, and on a few of them is more of a tan color. Not something I'm concerned with, I was just curious if anybody knew if there was a difference between them and/or...
There is a big difference between a pull and an off center steering wheel. Off center steering wheel means exactly that, the steering wheel is not centered when driving down the road. Which a lot of people interpret as a "pull". A literal pull is when you are having to counter steer the vehicle...
Thank you! I have argued with COUNTLESS people that toe will NOT cause a pull, only tire wear and an off center steering wheel. I got into a pretty heated argument with my service manager at work a while back about this, and he tried to tell me that in the Hunter training class they said extreme...
The previous owner of our Deuce put a "custom" ramp mounted under the bed that slides out when needed. Its a really cool design except for the fact that in doing this he torched out a poorly shaped rectangle in the rear of the bed and then put a pretty janky door/hinge combo on it. Also in doing...
I'm curious to see if anybody else can weigh in that has had them installed on their truck for a decent amount of time. I know LED technology has come a very long way in the past few years, I wonder if Trucklite updates their hardware when newer/better technology comes available.
Well this thread is disheartening, I was wanting to convert all my exterior lamps to LED. If they're not going to last very long, then I don't see it being worth the money... Did you ever figure out what caused them to go bad? Was it definitely bad grounds? If that ends up being the case then I...
I didn't even think to check Amazon... That definitely doesn't seem like a bad deal at all.
And I heard back from the seller on the brake shoes, the quantity was correct. Also after looking around, it doesn't seem like it was the "too good to be true" deal I thought it was, quite a few...
So I Finally got some parts ordered. Found what I'm hoping aren't "too good to be true" deals... I got 6 lock washers for $21 shipped, three sets of 4 NOS brake shoes for $265 shipped ($22 a piece with shipping). I'm hoping that there isn't something funky with the shoes or the wording on the ad...
Good point. I've seen NOS rubber boots, but I don't like the idea of using rubber components that are potentially 30+ years old. Same reason I don't want any NOS brake components.
If I'm reading this correctly, you replaced your reflectors with LED marker lights? I was thinking of doing the same thing, do you have pictures of it?
I'm definitely going to put silicone boots on mine. I've been researching a decent amount, and from everything I've seen so far they seem to hold up much better than the rubber ones do. The previous owner of our truck put rubber boots on around a year ago and they're both torn up pretty badly...
Yeah, its a 2 person job. One pumps the other bleeds, start with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder. Also make sure you spend a decent amount of time on that cylinder to work out most of the air.
That's more or less what I've found myself. I do understand that a lot of the senior members on here are tired of answering the same questions 100 times (especially insurance related questions). But there comes a point where if someone has a question and its related to a topic that has hundreds...
