The one thing I have noticed about this forum is that almost any question about these vehicles has been answered at one point or another. Are the answers going to be easy to find? Absolutely not, it takes hours upon hours of digging through posts and linking to other posts and getting lost into...
Haha, that's what I was thinking myself.
No need to slam anybody. We are curious what car used that transmission, that's all. Nobody seems to be able to find any info on it other than its use in trucks.
I was wondering where a Carquest part number list was... I had them cross reference the NAPA part #. Maybe this should be added to the spreadsheet sticky?
Glad I saw this thread, my truck only builds pressure to around 90psi. I've seen some people say that's normal while others say 120psi is the normal level. Which is it? I don't have any audible leaks (haven't sprayed all the air lines).
I plan in putting spin on filters on our Deuce. At the very least the primary fuel filter just for ease of changing the filter down the road. Clinto brings up a good point about the dry starts, but at the same time why continue to have dry starts if it can be prevented? I guess it really comes...
I'm curious to see your cab heater install, I need to install one on our truck. Also if you don't mind me asking, where did you get your torque multiplier, and how much was it? I'm looking into getting one for easier wheel removal and installation.
Also does anybody know which Optima batteries...
Off the top of my head I'd say the least damaging way would be to drill out the bolts. More damaging options would be to try and pry it open with a pry bar. It's kind of hard to say the best way without seeing exactly what you have going on, do you have any pictures of the damage/latch area?
Yeah, I'm familiar with driving in mountains. I always downshift in my car when going down hills, but there are some rather steep, winding, and long hills around where we travel that require braking when engine speed gets too high. As I haven't driven the truck in the mountains yet, I'm not...
I'm very familiar with RTV being that I use it with my job on a regular basis, so I'm not gonna goop an entire tube on one gasket ;-). The brake fluid is something that my wife and I have been going back and forth on for a while now. I have literally an unlimited supply of DOT 3 fluid from work...
I am also doing a remote reservoir kit (forgot to mention), and I was planning on building a power bleeder as well. I might need to look into a wheel dolly also, we're wanting to eventually put on singles, and that would make life a lot easier.
So does anybody have any other recommendations...
Yeah, I need to find out which TM all this is in... I've read most people tend to replace the cork seal with RTV, are those the "4 outer seals" that White Owl was listing off to me? Or is that something else?
So its getting about time for us to start doing some work/repairs to our Deuce. I'm kind of anal when it comes to doing work the right way and making sure that everything that needs to be done is done in one swoop. That being said, I plan on tackling the brakes first. Once I start going into the...
Amber tail lights are completely legal in some states. In North Carolina red or amber lights can be used in the rear of a vehicle for running lights or brake lights, you just can't have any white rear facing lights except for reverse lights. I know this because I have an inspection license in...
I was just talking to my wife about putting back up lights on our Deuce... I like the idea of having two of them, one of which being amber. That's a good idea that I think I just might have to do myself. Thanks!
I want to replace my brake lights and turn signals with LED's first though, still...
