CBR, I saw a thread a while back (might have been yours, honestly don't remember) where somebody put an A3 brake system on an A2 and if I remember correctly there was a decent amount of modification required to get it to work. Where did you source parts from? I'd prefer not to change over to a...

    New Deuce owner here..

I was just about to post a similar thread about what all I should replace/service when I go into my brakes. This has been informative and pretty much what I was planning on doing with mine. Replace all the seals, wheel cylinders, repack wheel bearings, etc... Hopefully I don't run into any...

Cool deal, I'll have to let you know next time we're gonna be out working on the truck and the weather is going to be halfway decent. I was wanting to get the brakes redone before it got too cold out, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen at this point. Then again around here it will...

    Finally got our Deuce!

Ok, it sounds like I have the tools needed covered to do the MC. Thanks for the tip on the wheel cylinders... Nationwide, that appears to be a pretty common saying with these trucks. That's the 3rd or 4th time I've heard it from varying people...

    Something concerning in the TM

I think gimpy's idea for dumping the clutch and/or co2 is the safest and most fool proof option.

I did see the member map (thank you for the PM a couple weeks ago). I'm trying to see who's still active on here and find people who want to meet up. Thanks again!

Shop that rebuilds mulitifuel injector pump

Hmm, this has me intrigued. My FDC is bypassed right now, which I know isn't a huge deal as far as using alternative fuels. But I have a thing about everything working correctly and as intended on anything I own. So getting all that done in one swoop would make me a happy camper. I'll have to...

Hey all, was curious if there are any active members in or around Charlotte. We just recently purchased our first Deuce and I'm in the process of learning the in's and out's of the truck and wouldn't mind a more knowledgeable person showing me some things on the truck. Plus I have a few odd...

    Something concerning in the TM

That's one of those common sense things that I would have never thought of until after my engine blew up... Thanks for posting that, now if I ever have this come up I'll know what to do without freaking out and running.

Shop that rebuilds mulitifuel injector pump

I think it was for the guarantee that they offer. Versus getting a NOS rebuild, if you get it and there's a problem you're on your own. I see both ends of the spectrum, the ones sold on here are cheaper and the chances of getting a defective one are probably slim. But on the other hand the...

Shop that rebuilds mulitifuel injector pump

That's good to know. I'm curious if there is anywhere local to me that rebuilds them... If not I might send mine off to them down the road to have it rebuilt. No known problems with it as of now, but I'm all about preventative maintenance, especially on a component that more or less determines...

    Super Single wheels for M35

I've been searching around trying to find wheels to single out my M35 without flipping the hubs, and every time I find something they're either grossly overpriced or are no longer available. I have a hard time spending $XX on wheels and then an additional $100+ on centering plates plus tires...

    Finally got our Deuce!

Ah, thanks for the tip... I wouldn't have thought to look there. I tried to put some of that muffler tape on the hole in the J-pipe as a temporary fix, aaand that held until I fired it up and went to drive it. I got back from the drive and the tape was completely gone, haha. I did top off the...

    Finally got our Deuce!

A pre-trip inspection is how I found the oil was low as well as most of the problems with the truck thus far. And yes I've checked the brake fluid.

    Finally got our Deuce!

Well, finally had a free day to go do some minor work on the truck. Wanted to address the fuel leak mentioned in the first post, as well as get the cover back on and take her for a spin and put some fresh diesel in the tank. Turns out the fuel line coming off the secondary filter going to the IP...

    Got my first Deuce!

Congrats! We just got our deuce this week also. My story is very similar to yours, my wife more or less suggested we get one, so needless to say I jumped on the opportunity. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for yours...

    4 Cylinder Cat Deuce?

That was my thought too, but he was very specific that it was a 4 speed manual transmission. I can see forgetting engine specifics, but manual vs. automatic trans? I can't see forgetting that difference. I don't know, I'll talk to him again and see if I misheard him or something. So basically...

    4 Cylinder Cat Deuce?

So after getting our deuce, I called up an old co-worker of mine who used to be a military mechanic to talk to him about the truck and potential help working on it. He was in around 1995 and said that the deuce's he worked on had 4 cylinder Cat engines with a 4 speed manual trans. Maybe I...

    Finally got our Deuce!

Yeah, I've seen it a few times with air compressors, but they weren't mine so I didn't pay much attention to it. I kind of get the impression the previous owner didn't drain them that often.

    Finally got our Deuce!

I do plan on putting the cables on the air drains... I don't even want to think about draining the tanks with 395's in its current configuration. I did notice the heat soak from the engine through the firewall was pretty significant, good thing when its cold, probably not so much in the summer...
