Cool, the id tags must have been mix up buy the owner. He had a few in the paint shop and he must have removed the plates for paint and mixed them up. The ID tag said delivered in 1954. Checker co. I'm happy no rust... Just need bows, Half way through the repaint, Camo to match the truck.

My first trailer from ebay was a disaster. The one I bid on i never got and the one he tried to give me was a rust bucket. I paid 600 and never got my money or trailer....:evil: So I tried again and won this one. A 54 checker. What do you think of it? did i get a good deal at 700? I towed it...

Hi and welcome. Research, time, and money is the name of the game. This endeavor will always need work but if its a love affair then go for it. Spare part are always a good idea. Axle seals are a biggie. Leaks are many. Check oil, water fuel, tires, axle leaks, belts, hoses, BRAKES, Soft peddle...

Mine were 51 dollars each. 650 for all.

I had to replace 2 rear axle gaskets myself. Maintenance:wink::wink::wink: Never ending battle for truth Justice and the American way...:idea::idea::idea:

Hi, I just had all 12 of mine done. It cost me $120 bucks to have a shop press them out and back in. The hardest ones to get to were the uppers. It took about 8 hours to replace all of them.:-D
