It suddenly got very loud at lower RPMs, and there's a bad clicking sound near the torque converter area. Oil pressure's good, fluids are full, and it feels like it drives ok. There was a missing nut on the starter, but putting a new one on didn't fix the clicking sounds, instead it might have...
Diagnostics mostly, as I haven't been able to find out what exactly is wrong with my truck yet. I'm afraid it might need a new torque converter, and if so then I guess I'd have to go from there to see how many funny noises that fixed.
That's nice, but the one on Rock Auto (V335) that looks just like that is only $34, just to refresh. Unless someone can find that style cheaper, I'd get a new one from there. Going to try cleaning mine first though, see if it helps that rear main leak I've got too.
Uhm, it sounds like someone decided to bypass the vacuum regulator module on the injector pump? I suppose since no vacuum means late shift, full, unregulated vacuum would mean very early shift. You're probably going to want to fix that and reattach it with the proper connection, going from the...
Could have been me, but it was so cheap I didn't bother. I missed the part where they were described as 3.5" cannisters though. It's probably the $34 one that was mentioned that's the right one.
Combatmech, I have the same issue, although it's my Gen1 light that starts to glow faintly with the heater/lights on, and not just at idle but while driving down the road at night, I can still see the faint glow of Gen1. Brighter the higher I crank the heater blower.
I have the Gen2 light...
He might be right though, I think. Might try a test and see how well it works from the back bus bar. I'm hoping my battery bugs will tell me how good a job mine are doing.
Anyhoo, how do these hold up in the rain and snow mounted externally? I figured they'd be better off on the dash, even...
The PCV80 from Rock Auto is _not_ a CDR valve. It is a PCV valve, for what, I have no idea. I know because I just bought one. Oh well, only out a few bucks on that one. The V335 one for $34 at least has a picture with it, so I might try that one next. Anyone else verify that any of those...
Anyway, I managed to upload some video of the torque converter area and engine bay while running. Unfortunately, the audio pickup isn't very good on my cell phone, and doesn't really sound quite like it does in person. But maybe if someone takes a peek at these there might be something I'm...
I got one of the General Purpose First Aid Kits, I want to put it in my 1009 but I'm not sure where it's 'supposed' to go. Is there any sort of standard mounting for these? I read someone used under their jerry can/toolbox mount in the back but that's where my antifreeze is wedged. Is there...
Didn't get mine from GL myself, but it did still have:
Radio mount
Antenna mount
Cabling for antennas and radio power
Rifle mounts
Fire extinguisher mount
That other plastic mount by the 4x4 shifter
Toolbox
Sliding side rear windows
Manual bag with several slightly moldy copies of the -10 (not...
Probably going to need to take my truck to a shop (diesel-oriented) to get some help troubleshooting and for some more serious work. Looking for someone who may just charge a fair diagnostic fee, and credit all/part of that to any repairs I do have them do. Also looking for a place nearby that...
My M1009 hasn't been running quite right lately, so I've been digging in and checking all the things I've found mentioned in the TM and online. Too hard to start when cold, ticking sound near oilpan that's grown very pronounced lately, engine sounds much louder than normal most of the time but...
Hey Campbell, you going to the Troy mud run this year? We might have to get the MVs together :)
Might be why my rear main is leaking. Crap. Well, if my oil pump is shot I was going to replace it anyway, but good to know the cause so I can prevent it from happening again, or getting worse.
Well I'm going to stop by O'Reilly again soon anyway, I'll try to see what that part number was I saw on the shelf. Also, I should be installing my gauge today, will try to add pics of the contents and the process. When I finally get this thing fired up, what would a good pressure reading look...
Strange, when I went to O'Reilly, they had all the gauges on display. The 6234 had a note below that said tubing kit 9901 was required, and not included. But the 9901 on the rack was a plastic tubing kit, and oddly enough, when they brought the gauge out, it did seem to have the same contents...
Ah right, I did see that pic while browsing for existing information on gauges, but I guess the big issue I have with this site is just that sometimes it's like an information overload, and I have to keep revisiting threads until enough of it sinks in. Maybe I will try that tap like you suggest.
