Broke an axle, now what ?

Was afraid of that. Sounds just as involved as any other fix. Guess I'll just try to patch up my 10 bolt for now while I decide what to do in the long run. Should make a good winter project if I can get a heated garage.

Broke an axle, now what ?

Googling led me to 14 Bolt SF.... What vehicles? [Archive] - FSC - Chevy Truck Forum Seems they may exist on some Z71s? Now to go hit up craigslist/junkyard.

Broke an axle, now what ?

Does that exist? I haven't been hearing much about them if so. That'd be ideal for me right now. FF even better if there's a conversion or a stock one or something.

Broke an axle, now what ?

Well until I get ready for the 4L80E swap, I'm gonna try to keep the 3.08 10bolt going. What civilian vehicle has the 10bolt so I can tell NAPA what car to give me the parts for? Did the 1/2 ton civilian blazer also have them? Johnn, I'd make sure that it's the same ratio if you can check the...

Considering getting my first deuce from Ft Leonard Wood

I'm curious about the current lot security. Yeah I know, from what I've read my first EUC is gonna take a while, but that's actually fine as I'm just starting house shopping and I won't have a place to put the deuce for a little while, without calling in a bunch of favors. So I'm actually...

Rear sliding windows on a 1009: Anyone else get that?

And mine is different still from C-30's in that it has four panes of glass, with a part in the middle that two small panes slide away from. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs203.snc4/38483_10150220746365346_622145345_13078084_8112354_n.jpg...

Rear sliding windows on a 1009: Anyone else get that?

I didn't get mine from GL, so I'm thinking that they were a previous civilian enhancement. Anyone know if those were ever installed on them while still army owned? I didn't think anything of it until I realized that neither any pics on this site nor the manual seem to mention the sliding rear...

Broke an axle, now what ?

I got some axle woes of my own, and it seems that I'm not gonna be able to upgrade without losing some top speed, and 75 already seems like it's gonna kill the poor girl, but I like to pass quickly :) Is there a tougher option than the 10bolt that would keep the 3.08, or at least something <...

Rear axle leak, time for service

Any suggestions for store bought replacement for the differential GO? The wiki mentions 90/75, but oddly all I've seen in stores is 75/90. Is that a typo in the wiki?

New M1009 owner looking for parts.

You're right that I do need to study that better. I did take a look at the schematics today, but I'm still confused where the 12V actually comes from. In just the blackout schematic, the best I can tell is the source for them is the fuse box, so it makes it seem that the fuse box itself has a...

New M1009 owner looking for parts.

Thanks for clearing that up. Then, where does other 12V equipment get power?

New M1009 owner looking for parts.

IP = Injection Pump. I'd familiarize yourself with the basics of what separates the 6.2's Stanadyne DB2 IP from other types like direct injection diesels. Don't worry, 2 months ago I was wondering the same thing :)

Rear axle leak, time for service

Anyone have any good tips for servicing the 10 bolt/8.5" rear? Looks to be a pain since all the maintenance for it is in the -34 and there's a lot of work just to get a shaft out. I just developed a leak in the right rear somehow, not sure how but I suspect the vibration I felt on the highway...

New M1009 owner looking for parts.

Interesting. I guess that means they are 12V lights. They're not split like you think probably, they're just on an independent parallel branch off of the 12V main circuit. There's an entire part of the M1009 electrical system designed to provide 'civvy' 12V power to various components of the...

Happen to have a rear 1009 BO light too? ;) Mine was snipped at the housing somehow.

New M1009 owner looking for parts.

No one's still made it clear whether the 12V light is supposed to work in the Chevy CUCV or not, as the Wiki still states it's a 24V light and explicitly incompatible with the M880 light. I have been meaning to test the actual voltage across the light but haven't had time to dig out my...

First time caller long time fan

The dealer saw fit to include that particular option on both doors, and the tailgate. I added on an aftermarket 'tree antenna mount' package since those pics. Wasn't a fan of that look afterwards so I've taken the mount off :(

First time caller long time fan

Thanks all. Since you mention the Show-Me State, I'd love to show the truck off in person but I didn't see much mention of any rallies near my area. Any I should be aware of? Closest I have so far is an offer to tag along with the KC Jeep Club when they come out to Taum Sauk Park.

Yeah it's like a wise man once said, if it's got t*ts or tires it's gonna cost you a lot of money and cause you a lot of heartache.
