Didn't see under the hood apparently, and I'm doubting it's a Cummings or Cummins or anything like that, but maybe it did have an engine swap at some point.
There's a running M1009 on a used car lot on Hwy 40 in Kansas City, MO, near Blue Springs. I believe it was Hwy 40 Motors, it's west of Hwy 7 and east of Blue Ridge. My mom saw it when she was there and thought it was cool that it was like my recently acquired M1009 :)

I went to school there for 5 years (02-07), only managed to check out that yard once. He did at one point have a DUKW rusting in the front yard, this was 8 years ago though. He had $15,000 charcoaled on the side. He also had some fire trucks and some old Jeeps, I don't remember much else...
Sorry to necro this thread but it was the closest thing I could find to what I need. Seems to be conflicting info across this site and the wiki about the blackout lights. Cucv wiki specifically says the Chevy CUCVs have 24V blackouts and the M880 Dodge has 12V. The link previously posted...

Just got a M1009 a few weeks ago and still getting some things fixed up. One major issue is the missing teeth on the rear window regulator, gonna have to replace it. Trying to find a good deal on one, and I ran across a 1960's Chevy Nova tailgate window...
