to elaborate the pump is a (parallel pump) meaning two identical 20 gpm pumps built into one. A two stage pump has one it and one out and has two different flow rates based on the load. Make sure that there are no blockages in your feed line to the half of the pump first, you can just blow...
You should be getting fluid from both lines leaving the pump at all times, if the line closest to the rear of the truck is not working then the intermediate shaft connecting the two halves is most likely broken. You can take the pump apart pretty easy to inspect if you need to and even reduce it...
it had a multi fuel 230 hp most likely, if it was a diesel that means gasoline would have been an acceptable fuel for that truck in an emergency scenario, I don't know what availability is up north of us but they are still readily available in the states. You can swap just about any medium duty...
that is correct about the wheel set he is using, that coupled with the removal of the spacer and the sheer weight of his loads is a great combo for his truck.
The M172 was designed to be pulled behind an M818 which is much lower or the M123 prime movers. I know that it has the swappable pin from 2 to 3.5 but that was for the two tractors above. The m920 was more suited for the 747 trailer and the 870's for the height requirement. Soni has been...
you know what, it never seems to fail, someone posts something in the mod and hot rod forum and a purist comes in to tank whatever the project is, its his money and truck he can spend or abuse it anyway he see's fit, don't worry more hemtt's are coming. None of us know what stage this project...
I started with a deuce, I now have multiple deuces had some 5 tons and now a 20 ton M920 and I still enjoy driving my deuces more than any other truck I own.
considering the steering box, pitman arm, drag link, tie rod, and all associated parts are missing I would say it is safe to assume its full hydraulic.:driver:
I was bidding on that truck last year when it went through, had two 5 tons at the time. Glad to see it stayed in the enthusiast side of the house. Looks good!
Looks like you have all the room in the world to track down a crew cab and fill that huge gap! would be a somewhat simple change as well. That is if you want a crew cab as well.
ah just cage it and put the tag down for the breaks ;) sounds like a fun trip, I too had a broken spring in one of my can's make it all the way home from LA to WA with it, never locked up thankfully, I will end up replacing all of them since it is evident that during depot rebuilds they do not...
rear does not matter if you flip the hubs, I don't know what the offset measurement will be I just know from experience that those wheels won't cut it. I don't even think that the hemtt wheels with 16.00 r20's will be enough, never have tried that combo but someone on here might have already.
There you go again driving those prices up!! good thing I have 14 of them already. Oh wait, Andy's already spoken for themaua Just kidding buddy they are still yours.
they will not works on the m35a3 wheel, there is too much offset and they will rub the truck a ton. As a matter of fact anything bigger than the stock 14.5's will rub so I would sell those wheels off and get some Hemtt ones made up or some other custom wheel with enough of an offset.
I would say somewhere between 6-9 inches, I don't have one right now to measure but it is a big difference, it still looks cool but If I cold get both to mirror the rears that way it would be real cool. I am making some wheels with a 0 offset so the mounting portion of the wheel is dead center...
thank god it is removable!! I think its a great design, but I do have to say that front setup looks like you put braces and headgear on your truck! The other MV's are going to make fun of it. All kidding aside, excellent fab work, 1st rate.
looks good John, it sure did turn out nice. I love my truck but if I were to do it again I would build mine the same as it is now but I would have started out with a 916 for the shorter wheelbase.
