Well, I used a 3 stage computer controlled charger/maintainer that is highly recommended (charges both batteries separately), which has done a great job of keeping the batteries tip-top for 2+ years. I kept the fluid level up, and used distilled water.
I've read a lot about battery maintenance...
Actually, none that I could see. The battery that blew is almost dry in at least 2 of the cells.
I'm going to let it cool a few more hours and remove everything carefully and hit the inside of the box area with some baking soda wash to neutralize any that may have splashed up.
Nothing leaking...
Similar to what happened here in this thread:

I was out working in the yard today and heard a loud boom (Like an M-80 going off). Curious, I hustled to the side of the house to see blueish smoke coming from under the deuce...
Make sure the tire didn't get that way because of your truck having an issue with alignment or bearings.
Regardless, it's about time for a new set of shoes. Probably good to check all around and see if any others need replacing as well.
A good upgrade is 11.00R20 Michelin XLs. Good...
Good luck drilling rubber. Put it in the freezer first..that helps.
I usually just get a bolt that is the right size, get it really hot and melt the hole out using the hot bolt. Smelly, but works a treat. Have a bucket handy in case it goes fuego grande.
6 months later, that derailed plow was still on the side of the tracks. I'm assuming it's scrap:

Blowers are really cool...I love the canyons they create (see that last pic with the truck).
For clearing them quick, the plow is the way to go:
I think they look cooler in action too.
Of course, there are hazards (Stuck):
Derailing:
Cool stuff though....tough job.
If you have a pinhole, you probably have a paper-thin spot on the tank. For safety sake, replace it with a new one. Do not attempt to repair it...you will only delay the inevitable blow-out.
I agree that $120 may be expensive for a tank, but it's NOS and will bolt right in and look stock...
Thanks for this....good info.
I would love to get new plates for mine. Was never sure which ones to get though, as mine didn't have the plates on the upper support when I got it. :(
Does that MVDataplates guy make reproductions of these? Anyone know where else to get them?
200 miles? I would have it towed...no drama that way.
If you drive it, check out the "great list" sticky for picking up your deuce. Also remember to bring ear protection!
The Dynabead guys used an engraver tool. I can't imagine putting 14oz in the valvestem like that. Easier just to pop the bead at a tire shop and throw in a 14oz bag, then re-seat the bead and inflate. Done and done.
I have not used them yet, but it's on my list.
I've seen the "Trucker Girl" silhouette tucked into a camo pattern before. Subtle, and you don't notice it for a few seconds. (I wish I could find the pic).
Something to think about....
Truly amazing work. You are very talented.
I can see that the dedication of this project to the memory of your brother was well placed.
Keep up the great work and please do continue to keep us posted on progress. I know I get very excited when I see a new post on this thread...I know there...
