Dash painted black and installed one of those plastic dash covers that I got on cyber Monday for $80 shipped. Turned out OK, but I would still rather have a real vinyl full replacement, but did not want to spend $300 + for one. Now the whole interior is black and no more white to be seen. While...
I do not know about the Jeep steering box, but I think your information should be just the shaft. What you need to do is find a 88-96 Jeep Cherokee steering shaft that will replace the rubber bushing that is the cause of the sloppy steering. There are many post on the Internet on this topic...
I can pretty much guarantee you will not find one at a dealer and the black dash that LMC and Car Parts Discount sells is a vinyl, but only the black one. As it says on CPD page it is the correct Madrid grain vinyl vacuum molded over a foam core. The others are the urethane style that is cheaper...
There are posts on how to prime the system with air compressor with 4psi or one of those small hand pumps from Harbor Freight on YouTube. I changed the fuel filter on a M1028 and did the air 4psi compressor prime on the return line and worked like a champ.
Speaking of thinking you fuel tank...
Allot of money for fixing rust, but if you do not have the tools to do it yourself and want to keep the truck for a long time it is not that bad of a deal. Just make sure when it is all done it is rusted protected well. I have been had my last few CUCV lined with Bullet Liner that is just like...
Here are some more pictures from today after some more work. I added stencil ID numbers matching the GANG 278MP on my M1031 and gave it unit number HQ69 as from what I read the HQxx number would be the vehicle ID. I found Georgia National Guard Military Police 278, so that is likely where my...
Welcome to the club and hope to see you at the next meeting.
As for missing Red Dawn you should go ans see it as it is actually a good movie for a remake. I am not a big fan of a good classic movie being remade, but this one was well done. The original is still better, but they did a god job...
Pretty much these are just pictures from multiple angles showing the bullet liner. I will paint the white black over the next weekend, I just ran out of time before it got dark.
I will also clean and touch up the exterior paint as there are spots that have been scratched up due to all the work...
Started today at 9am and ended my day at about 5pm working on putting the burb back together, so I am pretty tired now. Only have to get the rear headliner installed after I clean up the roof from the fire issue that I mentioned was there before I bought it. Everything else is back together and...
wallew,
I do know about the seats, but not sure if I want to go wit them. I would have to see how they would look before I would go that route. I just got a nice cloth bench seat to replace the really dirty one it came with, so right now I am good with a bench seat.
I have about 10 of them all...
Pictures of the floor from dirty to clean. The rear cargo area was stripped down, but did not get a picture of it before it got dark, but you can see what I was dealing with on the small rust spots. This thing was really dirty, but it is all clean now. I have to scuff a few more spots before I...
Allot going on with the Suburban since I last posted and put on about 100 miles driving it around town to just get a feel of it between projects. It drives and sounds great and tracks perfect with no sway to one side and is tight. Seems the city did take good care of it and only found one issue...
I think putting a Dana 44 in a 5/4 ton truck is not a good idea in the least. I would not risk my safety and others on a smaller axle just to short cut on swapping gears. I had a M1010 and it is a heavy truck in the front. Plus will the brakes be safe enough to stop it, or will the original...
Is that the thin mat that is taped on where your feet are from the seat to the curve of the firewall?
I used a propane torch to just burn it off and that worked well. I had to get that stuff off in order to Line-X the floor.
No HID would be illegal to install.
They are just H4 headlights in glass housings from LMC truck with the headlight harness to take the load off the fuse panel. They are very bright over Silver Star lights that I have used in the past. So that will tell you they are allot better over stock...
Well I had a shocking surprise when I removed the rear A/C cover panel, found out there was a fire back that at one point in the past. Does not look like it was from the A/C unit as there are no melted wires or any signs of damage inside the unit. There are also two scared marks in the front of...
Update 11-01-12
I added the CUCV antennas and painted the door jams black. I still have to paint the antenna brackets, but they are in and set. Thank you to Blueduce for the one CUCV bracket, I did not use it on this but will be adding it to my M1009. The antennas I bought from beltfed34 a...
Windows cranks is expensive and you have to order all the parts they show at LMC to make it work, there are no short cuts. With LMC I spend allot of time researching what I need before I make my order so I do not miss anything. I think the whole deal for a complete crank is about $130. Expensive...
