I confirmed the short. I can get 12.5 volts between the negative terminal on the battery and a ground. There should be nothing there because nothing was turned on. It also means that there is a short in a system that only uses 12 volts and not 24. so that limits some of the possibilities. Are...
Sorry it has been awhile, I was unable to work on this problem for the past couple days. I took the dash apart, and all the bulbs are good... All the dummy light come on when the ignition is turned on except the gen 2 light, but it is still good and not burned out. I have no dash illumination...
First thing: I am dumb to normal vehicle electronics, especially this 12/24 volt system.
About the only thing I know is that the frame is the ground (:
When I bought my M1009 it started fine. I drove it around for awhile then just the other day I began to have starting problems. It turned over...
I am having the same problem...! I bought my m1009 recently and everything worked just fine, except the gen1 light would come on until I ran the engine faster. Then it would go off. And my gen 2 light was not working at all. The truck started fine multiple times after bought it, then all of a...
With enough work, you could get it out with your 8n. If you have the tractor tires filled with balast you might even get away with putting a small A-frame under your tow line and take some weight off of the deuce.
Thank you all for your input... I have finally decided that a nice set of 30 inch spinners with 35's on them. However, now I question whether or not these wheels will hold up to the stress of my offroading trips and towing needs... Anybody know? Actually I think the next time I change tires...
I do regular field work on a tractor. I have been for the last two growing seasons... and for the bobcat... I've been operating a John Deere equivalent since before I was able to reach the pedals properly... I regularly run one now to mix feed and do a number of various tasks...
Sorry for my...
I did a search (I'll admit I didn't spend tons of time looking) and could not find what I was looking for... I would like to know what color the rims on my m1009 were originally. My cucv is one of the forest green patterns (there are at least two forest patterns I think, but not sure which one...
I do not recommend a duce as a first vehicle... I don't have one (sob) but I am 16... If you have your heart set on an MV then I recommend going for a CUCV as mentioned above... I recently bought an m1009 as my first vehicle... they don't have airbags either, but they are alot closer to a...
To find an m1009 in that condition is definitely gonna take some searching. Anyone who puts that much to either preserve one or restore one isn't going to be to willing to let it go cheap.... sorry to be a discouragement... I think it is do-able but its definitely going to take some work and $ (:
I don't think it looks like factory springs... I have read other places that 33x12.50 will fit on a m1009/8 with no trimming required... Post your results, I am looking at putting the same size tire on my 09 next summer... (:
Thanks ya'll for your advice. I think I'll do some shopping and see if I can find a local top cheap.
indy4x4fab- I'd love to give you my business, but I'm in no way prepared to drive out to Indiana, sorry... I don't even have a license yet... :)
The fiberglass top of my m1009 has gone bad in some spots. The paint has faded away and the white fibers are showing through and are rough. I could pick them off with my fingers... I would like to fix this and then repaint it. Do I use Bondo on this or is there something better?
