Feel free to do the experiment, but just keep the head limited to 5 to 7 KW so you know you won't overload it. You know you'll always have plenty of power so the engine won't bog down when starting a large load
WOW, I can't believe I didn't catch this thread earlier...the power outage might explain this a little though. Sorry to hear about the mishap, but I'm glad you're safe and you were able to get it home in all of that heat.
I'm even more surprised that NOBODY called me!!!!!! I hope all goes...

WOOHOO...FINALLY got utility power back!!!!!!
Here are some stats for you MEP information junkies out there
MEP-003a, running an average home 1250 square feet, gas stove and gas water heater. 3 ton geothermal heat pump, well pump, electric clothes dryer, TV, computers, lights and such...
My spin on the "Visa" commercials
Cost of an MEP-003a generator...$598.16
Enough Diesel Fuel for a 7 day power outage...$420.29
Being able to live life normally...PRICELESS
By the way, still no utility power.
Well, still no utility power, so I just had to shut her down for about 20 minutes to change the oil and filter. Been running strong and solid for 4 1/2 days, so it's past the recommended 100 hour interval for service. The oil change could not have been easier. The modified spin on oil filter...
You're new so I'll do you a favor and move this thread to the proper location (The Deuce forum). If you put it in the right spot you'll get much better exposure and better responses to your question.
I like the forum Drew, thanks for setting that up for us. BUT I think it should be stated, that this is part of the classified section, so those rules apply here too. Meaning, if the item has been payed foreward...REMOVE the listing. This thing could get congested very quickly.
Also, it's...
You may not have the plastic plug. The hole referred to is on the cover for the cooling fan on the "Front" of the generator set (Front being the end of the enging opposite of the control panel, I know it's backwards, but that's what the TM designates as the front)
If you are replying to a post use the "Go Advanced" feature. Or if it's a new thread you should have the choices up already.
After you upload your attachments, click in the post where you want the attachment to be and then click the "paperclip" icon in your toolbar above the text box. Then...
WOOHOO...Finally got internet back at home!!!!!!!!!
Still no power though. "The Beast" has been going strong for the past 85.5 hours without a break or a blip in the output. Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE my MEP-003a's??????
I was without internet until just today at work and finally got it back here at the house just now, or I would have chimed in earlier and saved you some hassle. The fittings you need are 5/16" JIC fittings. They are almost exactly the same thing as the AN5 fittings. The OEM hose was just a...
Since you are supposed to be in preheat for 1 minute before starting the generator, use that free time to rotate the reconnect switch. You DON'T switch it under power, so while you're sitting there with your hand on the preheat switch, why not make some good use of the other hand and do a...
I’ve been without power since 1830 Friday evening. I ran the MEP-003a for about 6 hours Friday night, then I shut it down for the night due to lack of fuel. Fired her back up at 0700 Saturday morning and restocked the fuel supply. It’s been chugging along for the past 71 hours (as of this...
I don't think there is anything outside of the TM's that you would need to go out of your way to do. As far as lubricating the re-connection switch, I suggested that to a member who had one that was frozen in place from lack of use.
What I would recommend everybody do, is to rotate the...
This is going to sound like a stupid, and absolutely obvious suggestion, but you did make sure the ignition switch is "on" right? Also, did you make sure it's even good (continuity through the switch). I would hate to see you buy new parts if all that was wrong was a bad ignition switch.
Yes, that is correct. Iron is kind of like Firefox was in the beginning, very sleek, no un-needed BS and doesn't use the activeX crap like IE does (which, by the way, is how a lot of your malware and spyware gets onto your machine). That combined with using a linux OS makes it pretty safe from...
Try SRWare Iron for a browser, a chrome variant. It's more streamlined than firefox, and very fast. Also, it's chrome based, but not loaded down with the privacy issues of chrome
