are you driving it on the pavement in 4wd if so that is a big no no to much torque and bite will break the axles souds to me that you are because of the wheel hop the loping noise is the tires biting wanting to go but they fighting agianst theirselves because of the traction

the 12v power come off the negative terminal of the second battery to a junction block with 2 posts on it in the very center of the firewall and then i would run the 10 gauge wire to that before i would the alternator
