Sorry guys for wasting your time. In 3 phase with N+G works fine. With N unbonded from G does not work. In single phase it does not work in either configuration. I'm just going to haul it to the scrap yard this week. A mod can feel free to remove my posts since they do not help anyone to solve...
I think I found the issue I was having with not generating power unless you hold the start switch in the start position. As part of the single phase conversion for use with my house I unbonded ground from the back of the neutral lug. When attach ground and neutral again it works fine. Is this...
I put the gen back to 3 phase. All the wires were correct for the single phase mod. The only wire I did not move was x12eg16n as in 3 phase t12 and t11 are electrically the same. It works in 3 phase. So where is the issue? Did someone previously wire something on the reconnection board to the...
Removing ground from L0 should not have had any effect like this correct? I cant read the little diagrams in the manual that well. They are very small and blurry. From what I can tell though everything looks correct as far as the 3-1 phase mod and VR box.
Thank you for the help. It could be anything although I was very careful to reroute any wires that were tight and I tried not to kink any while moving them around. I will also attempt to find out what X8HH16B does and see if moving that from t11 to t7 will help any. Thank you for the info on how...
It has always had the unit listed as 30k and ran fine with it. I just don't know why all of a sudden it will no longer produce power unless the switch is held in start.
I got the box out. Not in a fashion I would prefer. The internals look good though. Nothing is smoked. Capacitors look good. None are bulged or leaking. I am again at a loss.
According to the -34 and some threads I finally found on smokstak it sounds like the problem is in that voltage regulator box. How do you get the cover off that thing? There is no room to get to the screws on the side and there is not enough clearance to get a socket on the bolts holding the box...
The last time I ran my mep-004a last summer it ran fine. This spring I converted it to single phase following the instructions in sewerzuk's thread. I gave it a test run today. Starts up fine and volts/hertz come up right away. As soon as you let go of the run/start switch though the...
I checked the reconnection board for about the 12th time. Everything is moved per the video in post 1. I will have to assume then since it worked before the conversion that the other wires are correct and this is a new problem. I will start a new thread for this. Thanks.
no. It only produces power while holding the switch in start. If I let go the voltage drops off at both the gauges and the convenience outlet. It does not matter if I hold the switch in start for 10 seconds or 30 seconds. Before the conversion it would only take 5 or so seconds of holding the...
I'm a little stumped here. The gen ran fine before the single phase conversion. I just tried it out for the first time since I converted it. Starts up and runs fine but will not produce power in "run" on the gauges or at the convenience outlet. If I hold it in "start" it produces power at the...
I got back to it this weekend after letting the truck sit for a week. I ordered a new lift pump and a bunch of new filters just to insure I would not need any of them. I pressurized the fuel tank and cracked the bleeder on the pump. No fuel. I cracked the inlet banjo on the pump and fuel came...
Thanks all for the help so far. I did try cracking the injector lines. The injector lines and the bleeder provide no fuel when pumping the primer or cranking the engine. The only time I got fuel to the bleeder was with air pressure into the fuel tank. Before I pressurized the fuel tank I did...
I tried that bleeder per the TM and earlier posts. pumping the primer on the lift/transfer pump did not produce any fuel from the bleeder. Neither did cranking the engine for some time. Pumping the primer did produce fuel from the banjo fuel inlet to the injection pump.
I don't know why it is...
I cracked the banjo for the feed line at the IP. I can push the primer and see fuel come out. I closed that and cracked the injector lines on the IP and cranked the engine. No fuel.
Just the small motor mounted filter. no in line filters. The filter felt like it spun up correctly and mated well with block. What I cant figure out is the truck ran fine. Even sat for 6 months and fired up instantly. Then I changed the filter and all of a sudden nothing. Is it possible that the...
I cracked the line per what you guys and the TM said. Pumped and cranked. Nothing. I pressurized the tank and fired it off with either. It ran poorly but on diesel for about 30 seconds then died. The old filter was a fram the new one is a napa/wix. At this point all I can say is its either the...
