I did not. That is something I have never had to do on my 5.9. With as similar as the 8.3 is to the 5.9 I did not think that was necessary. I can try that tomorrow.
I've never used the shut off lever. I will look in the TMs to see how to reset it just to be sure. I have no idea how I could have hit it while changing the filter though.
I started the truck a dozen times today. It always fires up instantly. The last thing I did was change the fuel filter. I primed it for some time with the primer on the lift pump and the truck will not start. Does not catch either. I cranked it for some time too. I took the new filter off and it...
dedicated and appropriate sized breaker in your panel with an interlock. The correct sized nm (or thhn with conduit) in the house to an outlet outside. SO cord from the gen to a twist lock or pin and sleeve plug. make sure to use 4 wires L1, L2, G and N. unbond ground and neutral at gen. This is...
I just reconfigured my 004a over to single phase. I just had one question regarding the ground that I did not see elsewhere. I removed the ground from L0. It looks to be X13BN. The ground stud has 2 other smaller gauge wires. One that runs up to the right near the reconnection board and another...
M925A2 Serial#: 2500942 Registration#: NSN#: 2320012300308 Location: Private sale from MD. Bumper: Pass:3187CSSB Drive:2260M412 I hope that is enough info. I will donate regardless. Thank you. Sorry. I edited to add bumper numbers. I dont know why it is all on one line and...
Can you go in to a little more detail about what you used as a transfer switch between the 2 gens and also what you have to do when switching between gens. I imagine anything sensitive in the house will have to be shut down as power will be shut off for a few moments. I was looking at getting an...
The 90 fittings for the vents ar e1/4" compression and can be capped as such. The return line bung in the tank is 1/4 npt and the feed bung in the tank is 3/8 npt. I'm working on the same project right now. Any clue as to what style of fitting the 90's are for the feed and return? They look to be...
Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to do mine this weekend when the weather gets out of the teens. One more question. For the jumper wire. Im guessing that 3/8" terminal lugs will do? Any ideas on what a good length of cable would be? I think I am going to be lazy and buy a ready made battery...
How bad is it to use 35ohm resistors? I bought them in late 2012. I was sure I got them through a link in this thread but I can no longer find it. Should I dump them and buy some 38+ ohm resistors?
Thanks
I was able to get the shifter out last night and disconnected the cable. The shifter moves fine with the cable off. I am going to try to get the cable out tonight. I just find it very odd that the cable locked up with no indication of it going bad. It was never rough or gritty to shift. Always...
I got over to the truck last night to have a look. I managed to get the shift cable separated from the shift lever and shift arm. The arm on the trans moves fine and the lever moves fine. The cable is locked up for some reason. Thanks for the help in tracking this down.
I did not check it this time since I could not drive it to get it hot. Last time I drove it it was full and clean. When I can get a chance I will remove the cable from the arm and see if it will move on its own. Since the cable jumps when you wiggle the lever but the arm does not I suspect this...
I was able to get to my house tonight and take a quick look at the truck. This was all with the truck off so I have no idea if it will shift through drive positions or not when its off. I tried moving the t-case lever between the 3 positions. It still will not shift. When the shift position...
Thank you all for the replies. So there is nothing in the shift tower or attached ctis box that can lock the shifter in position? There is no neutral safety switch or anything that prevents it from releasing to shifter like a car has? The T-case lever is all the way to floor. I never moved it...
I ran in to a problem today that I really need to get fixed before next weekend. I have not had the truck long but the few times I have driven it I have had no problems other then it has very little power. I went to use it today and it will not shift out of neutral. The release on the shifter...
I have been slowly working on bringing my 925a2 to a drivable condition. I have a solid ABS light. I have checked the 3amp fuse. I have not checked the 15amp one yet. By the time I located where it was right up against the fire wall it was to dark to check it. What I did find was that 2 of the 4...
While I am currently in the process of reading every thread you ever posted to in an attempt to find the filter numbers. Can you tell me the best way to drain all the water from the block? I currently have no way to properly load the set to bring the engine up to temp in order to add and...
Thank you for the help. A friend of mine who lives in NJ and works here in PA said he just got power back and it may be 3 months before phone service is restored. So please take your time. How dose a history search differ from using the search box in the menu bar or site:steelsoldiers.com in...
I just picked up a -004a. I'm getting a little crossed eyed from hours of searching. I can not seem to find the part numbers for the 2 fuel filters or the oil filter. I also see that some people found some spin on fuel filters? The part numbers for belts would be nice too. I'm just trying to get...
