I think my deck on my trailer is 24'. I want to try to get the tongues forward to keep the weight to the rear. My hitch is only 17000 pounds weight carrying so 1700 pound tongue weight. I'm glad to hear you guys are able to get a few of them on the deck.
Thank you all. All those thoughts along with the hi-lift jack idea if I want to lower the tongue are great. I forgot I even had a hi-lift.
Tinstar. When you winch the trailer back words on board does the tongue float while under tension up the ramps?
Thank you doghead and jakelc15. I can do that. My question now though is how do you drop the tongue to the deck? Do you bring a floor jack? Or do you think its safe to transport the trailers tied down with the landing leg down?
I'm guessing I can pick up the tongue of a m101 but I think a m116a3 with a mep803a would be a bit heavy for me to pick up fold the leg and lower. I understand no matter how I load them that the tongue should be on the deck for transport and not on the landing leg.
I'm looking at picking up a couple trailers at the GL. Some cargo some with 10kw gens. Details say that there is no forklift available. I have a 24' car trailer with ramps that should be plenty wide for any trailers I get. I also have a large assortment of chain hoists, chains, and straps to...
Are the front wheels/tires of a 939a2 supposed to be perfectly vertical? I have noticed on mine that the tops of both front tires are leaning out. I'm not sure if this is normal, an effect of the driveway being crushed under the weight of the truck or a sign of something failing.
Thanks.
madderoftime. I had an issue like yours regarding voltage. see my post #278. that solved my voltage problem where it went to 0 after releasing the start switch.
Sewerzuk,
Thank you for all the time and effort you have spent on not only figuring out how to convert the 15KW+ gens but your continued support in helping us convert ours. My little MEP-004a is perfect for my home. It does everything I need at a fraction of the cost of a perkins or cummins...
I have 2 additional small gauge wires ruining to the ground stud on the gen. From what I see on the diagrams posted early on in this thread I can only see the bonding wire to the ground stud and not the other 2. I could be very wrong in how I am reading that though.
In the above photo I...
Thanks for the info. I will look into those gauges. Right now its only right as it fires up and the engine is coming up to speed. Once it hits 1800rpm it settles down to 60hz and holds. I have not put it on the scope yet so I cant say its 100% accurate.
As far as the ground issue goes It is...
Now that I have a lot of free time on my hands I was able to look at my gen and read some posts. Thanks indirectly to sewerzuk for fixing part of my issue. I now make voltage in single phase. The following quote is from him from another post in another thread. "My lead movements changed the...
I did not look at the pins on the speed switch yet but I did consider the switch. I made sure it was not in need of a reset too. What I find odd is in the 3 phase configuration it has never once failed to make power in the 2 or 3 years I have owned it. Even when I set it back to 3 phase from...
Thank you for the info. The bonding part I am ok with. My problem is when converting to single phase as in the video that the generator will not produce power unless the start switch is held in the up position. As soon as you let go voltage drops off. This happens regardless of bonding. Now to...
Not to be long winded here but my problem is I have been working on this for months. I'm also facing a lay off in 2 months. If that happens I have to sell most of what I own in about a week in order to get the house up for sale. A single phase generator is hard enough to sell that fast. A 3...
