Airpak wins. We pulled the little plug on the front of the airpak and stuck a longggg screwdriver in without touching anything. Wrong again. I'm ordering the airpak rebuild kit yet tonight. Almost has to be bad seals and bushings on the air end. I love troubleshooting, seriously. It was...
Can I pull the plug on the front end (hydraulic end) of the airpak and push the piston back with the bleeder valve open??? Anyone tried this?? I'm convinced this is it. Everything is forward so far that the air is just going right out the exhaust.
I put air to the output line off of the compressor this evening. Had my son watch the gauge . Still built only 30-35 psi with my shop compressor hooked to it. I'm convinced now that the compressor is ok. I've been studying the airpak. It occurs to me that during the process of bobbing the...
I installed a new governor last night with no change in results. I have worn out the TM's and search looking for an exploded view of the compressor. If someone could point me to one, I would really appreciate it. I have a single cylinder style. I'm going to pull the top off of it tonight to...
I dont have any gladhands left in the back. I think I will however, take your advice and adapt my compressor to the air line coming out of the compressor to see what that gives me.
I keep thinking governor...Doesnt the air compressor pump air until it is told not to, or does it only pump when...
Hey all. I need a little help. Yep, I've searched. Yep, I read the manual. I need experience talking to me from someone who has had this issue. Please read all my info-it does not seem to match up well with any other posted problem, although I may have contributed to the problem!
1. I have air...
I have narrowed it down to Michelin 395's or Goodyear 14.00-20's. I'd like to hear from those who have each and why / how you like them. Specific questions I have are:
Does the diameter difference matter much- as in will I lose the taking off in 2nd gear ability we have with 9.00's, (and if...
Everyone has an opinion, and I have mine regarding the actual need for a track bar on the rear of my truck with the Reyco air ride. However, since the engineers at Reyco said it was needed on the semi's, and I will be operating this on the road with other people's lives at stake, I went ahead...
I have air ride on the rear of mine. Its pretty cool to drop the back of the truck 6-8" when you want to. I think you could run a suspension like I have on a tandem rear with one facing frontward and one in the traditional backward position. Your axles may end up a bit farther apart. As far...
My deuce just started this. I had some lines loose / off while bobbing it, and now the horn squeals until the air pressure gets to 30 psi or more. Very annoying! I disconnected the solenoid and tried to see if it was stuck, but my understanding is that the solenoid is always powered and...
Yes, I'm pulling the air off the end of the line under the glovebox, going through a regulator mounted on the firewall inside the cab, and then back to the bags. Are you concerned about an air bag failure and then loss of braking? Explain your suggestion, please. I'm always looking for a way...
Half the fun is in doing it yourself. There's something to be said for the pride of telling people you built it and not bought it. Nothing against those who buy, but I've seen so many custom jobs over the years that the owner really knew very little about. I bought my first one and bobbed it...
I ran plastic on most of the air lines on my deuce when I bobbed it. I did leave the line from the compressor as copper as it does seem to get pretty warm. I used all "push connect" fittings on mine with DOT Nylon tubing. No leaks, easy in, easy out. I recommend it! Mine came from McMaster...
