Rhetorical rant
Thought I would drive "Jules" (When I was thinking of a name for my truck a friend said "that is such a bad mother *****r", think Pulp Fiction)..... but I digress, thought I would drive Jules to the big box hardware store. When I went to warm him up I didn't think it was going to...
I'm going to order the seals and felts for the door and window, I will report back but I have a refrigerator box full of stuff I haven't installed yet (Ok, it's not that big.) but I'll be ordering soon.
Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome
You would not be impressed but it's relatively cheap and works for small amounts. I would get some pics but I'm on babysitting duty and my shop is a couple blocks up the street.
I bought 3 "pan filters" that fit on top of a 5 gal bucket, one is a 100 micron...
I didn't think of that when posting but I took the pictures like that to be able to see clearly the gap left between the glass and top, it's a hard top. I looked at it again this afternoon thinking maybe the cab was out of kilter or something simple. I could be wrong but it seems to me the panel...
The windows don't seal up very well at all when the doors are closed. Is this just the "nature of the beast", is there something I can adjust? I thought maybe new window seals on the cab (The rubber is hard but it looks like it's all there) and/or the seals along where the window slides itself...
In the last several weeks since I bought the truck I've installed all spin on filters, changed all the fluids, greased fittings, replaced the air governor, some control switches & gauges, out with the quiet turbo, in with the whistler, added a snorkel and a bridge plate and put together a small...
I post this to help future seekers of knowledge because I assume (yes, I know);
There is not a known way to tell the difference between these two engines.
I very often read through thread after thread, post after post only to find.........nothing, no closure, no "I finally figured it out and...
The good news is that I was way over on my estimate , it was only $252.50 and that was 2hrs at $80/hr.
The bad news is that this really doesn't help you any.
Perhaps the quote you got was from someone who hasn't worked on a deuce before and they're playing it safe. The people working on mine...
i jumped over here to the M151 site to ask you guys a question I've been unable to find the answer to myself. Are the above diverters used together or are they for different applications? I have the blower/core assembly and I have recently ordered the diverter pictured on the left but I really...

I've been waiting a while now to get mine back (long story & not my thread) for the same repair. Don't know what the normal rate is there but here it's $75/hour, I'm planning on $700-$800. Unfortunately I don't have the heavy stuff to work on anything larger than a p/u but I'm...
At least we're starting to narrow it down now, the starter is on the passenger side........so I probably have a Deuce and a half. :naner:
Pictures I've seen of the engine data plate had some stamped info but the engine type was printed which is what concerns me. I should've checked closer when...
Is there some obvious way I can tell which engine is in my deuce (LDT-465-1c, LDT-1d or LDS) without taking it apart? I've searched several posts about the differences but I'm looking for something like "The canibler pin in the encabulator is truncated on the 1C and not on the 1D". I've read...
I thought seriously about the electric heater route until I remembered that mutt heater laying in the back of that old motorless cj i've meaning to put back together. It's small and from what I've read works well but I lack a little confidence in the fabrication dept.
I've been contemplating a hot water heater for my Deuce and am thinking I'll go with it mostly for the defrost capability (thanks to the several posts about it) and it just so happens I have a M151 Mutt heater that's been laying around for several years. I've been searching half the day for a...
Great Scott!! I have a Grainger and a Fastenal less than 3 miles away, I could have had that fixed already. When I saw the prices the surplus dealers were asking I thought they must be made from Unicorn sinew.
And thanks to everyone on the TM information, it all makes better sense now.
That's not the correct diagram for what I was asking, what I'm referring to are the 6 mounts for the plate that the headlight and infrared (I think) are attached to.
